Yes, for most people but I can definitely see some situations where people stay in the room. It's just a curiosity more than anything. I suppose indoor cabins on cruise ships that don't have window portals (or fake ones) would be similar.

If someone wants to go to Disney and sit in their room all day, that's their problem.

The guest rooms could also fake daytime by having the local star appear in the window casting light into the room.

I hope the portals have shades.
Maybe they'll use of light tubes creatively?

A couple of days without sunlight shouldn't mess most people up, and I'm with @danlb_2000 in thinking that you'll be able to head to Batuu on at least one of your full days.

Maybe they'll have light therapy rooms?

Hey @MisterPenguin, maybe an artificial skylight?

I wonder if they could do spaceship windows like the ones you suggested with this technology?

Those are enormous panel sizes. Once you get above 12 feet wide you need permitting and an escort to ship them ("Wide Load" trucking) and once you go over 40 feet tall you generally need to pretension the panels to handle the stresses and avoid cracking. Anything over 50 feet becomes nearly impossible to truck as well.

Just had a client come back with a change order to use precast panels in place of brick/CMU cavity wall construction on a power plant because although the panels are more expensive, the time saved makes up for it. They are also uglier and prone to both production and installation issues but that's neither here nor there.

For fun I took some photos of some of the ones going up near me. They are literally building over a dozen massive data centers in the last year within a mile radius. And these tilt up ones aren't even the most massive ones..

Look at the cutouts for some idea of scale..(those are all oversized full height doors or bays.. not windows :) ) and the ones with people in them. These are from several buildings..

That doesn't look as good as the Guardians building... we should be outraged.

The site which cannot be names is reporting that "dinner show restaurant" that was shown in very early GE concept art will be coming to the hotel instead.

Interesting. Given that visiting resort restaurants is probably what made all of us want to stay in said resort, this would be good marketing.

So are they implying the resort was not going to have a restaurant before the one in the land was delayed/cancelled?

Yes, there's not only this huge lapse in logic, namely, that the SW Resort was of course going to have dining, and being a LARP venue, was of course going to have entertainment...

But... that doesn't explain why DL's SWL is missing a restaurant.

Also... the table service restaurant was not supposed to be a fine-dining experience. If you look at the Concept Art, it's set up more like a night club.

Some of what you are showing are clearly smaller panels that have horizontal joints. Nonetheless, the one photo with the largest panels, however, my guess is they are casting them onsite. With how many you say are being erected in a close vicinity, it's possible they are trucking them around. Noticed any "Wide Load" trucking in the area lately?

I suppose it's plausible they need overhead doors on the second floor for access to replace large equipment. Also, I'm 99.9% sure the openings at the corners are NOT doors. They are almost certainly windows for daylighting.

Cool pics, thanks for sharing.

Nope and nope. Not being done onsite and they are single standups. The panels have been a mix of some with styling in the forms... some have had decorative finishes applied (some of those grid features) as panels... and some are just being painted.

Here is one of the smaller but mostly completed buildings that was put up tilt up and then just painted

The building I posted on the corner has had some venieer style decorations applied.

There is all kinds of styles here... some real elaborate with huge glass panels... others basic.

Save these photos! You can use them again when they dismantle the hotel. I love love love Star Wars and Disney World, but this is a bad idea. I would love a Star Wars themed resort with spectacular details and out of this world landscaping, but this isn’t it.

1) It's not built yet.
2) 99.9% of your experience at this hotel occurs inside the hotel.
That's where the theming will reside.

After witnessing the amount of credits flying out of people's pockets at SW:GE-DLR, this hotel has nothing to worry about.

Just a tad of oversimplification

1. How much we charging?
2. What’s happens with the franchise?
3. What happens if the two week fever in Anaheim -and later Orlando - subsides before the Hotel shows?

All legit. We can fantasize that Star Wars is “better than ever”....but thats completely incorrect...so we need to look at it from somewhere in the middle ground
