And what was Palp's rabble about "I have died before" ?

Because it was his "spirit" that inhabited the body he was in. The problem now is what makes Palpatine more dead than in EP6 and what stops him from occupying another vessel/body. Obviously this won't/shouldn't be addressed, but I like to nitpick.

Kind of like the logic in every JJ Abrams movie - so in Star Trek now that we have "magic blood" that brings people back to life who will ever die again?

I'd say it's better than no explanation, but it still doesn't help the trilogy all that much. What I do find funny is Kennedy saying, unlike marvel we don't have years of comics and stories to draw from. And then goes and uses a plot device of one of the most famous EU stories. I don't mind them going that route, I just wish they would have started the sequels with it. Not shoehorn it in after the trilogy is complete.
Right.. I mean I guess what I'm afraid of is when Disney does make a creatively bad decision, they won't want to try and fix it because no matter what we will just dog them about it. They messed up this trilogy and so yes I do want them to try and fix what they can. 4-7 years ago star wars was exciting, we couldn't wait for the next scoop and or trailer to drop... every thursday night playing MLB 2015 while listening to collider jedi council.. I wont lie, I miss it.

Not to harp (my speciality)...but welcome to prequel nuclear winter.

This is what it feels like when they screw up...you know they screwed up...and it will never be the way it was or coulda been

At this point I think the sequels are kind of a lost cause. No amount of retconing is going to change anything. They are what they are and the fans will always have issues with them. But I don't think it should be worrying in the least. Fans have embraced good, solid star wars like the Mandalorian. Hopefully Disney has taken notice , and they are course correcting. Personally I don't think the fanbase will truly move on, until Kennedy is gone and a creative is in charge of star wars.

I miss Jedi council as well. So now I'm really just listening to force center and rebel force radio.

There are other plot points the book expands on, for anyone interested. Nothing particularly surprising or game changing. Personally, I can't imagine reading the novelization considering the movie will be available to own by the time it's released. I wonder why they didn't get Matthew Stover to do another novelization, his Revenge of the Sith adaption is fantastic.

I'm pretty indifferent on the Palpatine clone reveal. It's something that I think most people assumed. Should it have been explicitly stated in the movie? Maybe. Would it have impacted the overall story? Not really. I guess it could explain why he wanted Rey's body, as a clone body could be less stable or something, but doesn't matter to me overall.

Minor observations after watching the movie at home (fourth viewing).

There is a line about the Sith and cloning, so I feel that particular plot point was adequately implied.

Same with Finn being force sensitive. There was some complaining as I recall that his "secret" for Rey wasn't clear. It's very obvious. He mentions "feeling" things many times, and sensed her at one point. It didn't strike me as being unambiguous.

I didn't feel particularly into this movie during my fourth viewing. In comparison, I saw the previous installments at least 4 times in the theater and was still excited to watch them again at home. I don't think it's terrible, but it feels too much like a corporately produced product maybe?

The best thing about this trilogy is still the cast and their chemistry. Rey didn't even meet Poe until the end of RoS, yet they really feel like old friends in this one. There's a reason people have been shipping various pairs, Rey/Kylo, Finn/Poe, Finn/Rey, etc. and that's a testament to the actors in my opinion.

Is this post satire?

Do we know when this will make it to Disney+?
No idea, but it's not a guarantee that it'll be rushed to Disney+ like Frozen 2 and Onward were.

Maleficent 2, for example, is still not on. And it was released to theatres before all these movies.
The typical timeline is 6 months from release date...to preserve the video/digital market.

But that’s shot - I’m sure - so really no excuse not to release the masterpiece in April at some point.
