@Tony Perkis
He showed little to any understanding of why people loved Star Wars...
And those movies don’t translate to this type of movie...he clearly couldn’t handle it. Stick to EMO stuff
And nobody wanted to be taken out of their Star Wars comfort zone!! Do you not understand what’s a cultural phenomenon is?
People like the Jedi...and the force...and the rebellion...and the empire...and the heroes.
If Mickey Mouse started acting like Bart Simpson to “subvert expectations”...how’d that go over?
Apparently Disney didn’t want it either...they brought in the master of remakes and took it all back. I’ll remind you that Disney is VERY good at data. Nobody is better - in fact.
They obviously saw what some of us saw when we saw that piece of trash...it wasn’t working short or long term.
I’ll say it again: Star Wars was the quintessential 20th century “NATO” franchise...its strength lay in that type of story/hero.
Disney did not do their research and find out why it worked and how to replicate it.
It wasn’t storm trooper jokes and bad guys in masks...that was the window dressing. Strong characters developed and a believable conflict.
They paid a lot of people to be clueless since 2012
