It's one year away and, I can't believe I'm writing this, I'm not looking forward to it. George Lucas has 4 hours worth of movie to cram into 2 hours 20 minutes. Episode I was OK (the Darth Maul, Qui Gonn, and Obi Wan duel was a high point in the whole series), but Episode II was a muddled mess.

I'll probably get hooked in by the preview that will be in the DVD box set for Ep. IV, V, VI (I hope).

From what I've heard, Ep. III will be the darkest of all the Star Wars films. With Gen. Grievous and the Obi-wan vs Anakin duel we've heard about for so long, I'm looking forward to it!!!!!!

Episode I was just character introduction with little to no storyline... Characters that were introduced and forgotten already...Qui Gonn, Darth Maul, Watto, Shmi Skywalker, etc.

Episode II showed the arrogance of Anakin...it showed him becoming "dark"...it showed the love interest...it answered questions about the clones and you see what caused Boba to become a bountyhunter...you see some "STORY" forming. Yoda proved to and showed everyone WHY he is the strongest Jedi...and...Mace had a purple pimpin' lightsaber... Episode II was far superior (aside from Anakin's more than lackluster acting) to Episode I.

I'm not too excited about this one either, I'll probably see it once just to finish the story but that will be about it. George Lucas just needs to get the hint from the responses to Ep. I & II.

You know if it wasn't for the bad acting, and if it would have been a little longer, with more organization with the story and all...it would have been the best of all the films....just the great scene at the end is the BEST.....I hope they go for LOTR length film...three hours....and not speed the story up....I hope the actor playing Anakin took some more acting classes too...and Lucas tones down the poetic dialogue (it makes for stiff and cold scenes, especially since the actors aren't that good)....

I hope it is dark...because its the fall of a jedi...;)

Anyone think that Lucas will make three other films after ep 3?

I completely agree!

My order is from favorite to least favorite:

1. Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
2. Episode IV: A New Hope
3. Episode II: Attack of the Clones
4. Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
5. Episode I: The Phantom Menace

(I'm thinking, if Ep. III can get the acting better and make it as dark as it should be....it will be my 3rd fave...)

I wouldn't blame the actors (most of them)...it's Lucas. He is not a good actor director, but a better technical director. Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor have proved themselves to be very talented actors. Lucas chose not to direct Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, and there is a noticible difference in the performances of the main three, Hamill, Fisher, and Harrison, between New Hope and the others.

What made me cringe after Phantom Menace was where the plot went (or didn't)...Princess in trouble, Princess gets help, big battle outside, small battle inside, Jedi dies, big victory and celebration. Just a little too familiar. I applaud Lucas for pushing the envelope with digital technology and CGI effects, but he needs to let someone else direct and help with the scripts.

I heard a rumor a few months back that Lucas was going ahead with Episodes VII, VIII, and IX (which is what he should have done instead I, II, and III), but haven't heard anything since.

Lucas said in a recent interview on Star wars.com that he would NOT be doing an ep 7,8 or 9.

I don't think anything will match Episode IV for me, partly because I was 12 when I saw it, but mainly because that was the one in which Han Solo was Han Solo. Before he got watered down and became a do-gooder.

With that said, I've loved the new films. Sure Jar-Jar Binks is annoying and they should have cut the whole scene with C-3PO getting his head switched, but seeing Jedi knights kicking butt was worth waiting (?) 16 years.

I agree with you Gary I have loved all of the Star wars movies, I even liked Jar Jar! :D and the Jedi kicking butt was awesome, but nothing compared to the Luke and Vader Duel in Return of the Jedi That whole duel gave me goose bumps! :D

What can we expect in Episode III?

1. Anakin turning over to the darkside with a fantastic lightsaber battle with Obi Wan.
2. The death of the Queen
3. Fall of the Jedi Council (including Mace, Kit Fisto, Plo Koon, etc.)
4. Jabba and Han's background?
5. Chewbacca's union with Han? (I'm thinking Han saves Chewbacca somehow...or vice versa).
6. The birth of the twins
7. The growth of the Empire.
8. The start of the rebellion.
9. Boba trying to avenge his father's death?

Anything else?

Have you actually heard any rumors about these points? I'd love to see a young Han Solo, but something I heard (can't remember what it was exactly) made me think Han wouldn't be in it even Chewbacca would.

If anyone follows these things, I'd love to find out what the current rumors regarding Han are.

Well, Chewbacca IS in this one. Peter Mayhew (the original Chewbacca is portraying him once again)...I found this out at the meet and greet with him on Star Wars Weekends. (The movie is also being released on his birthday).

Star Wars Episode IIIa.: The Fall of the Jedi
Star Wars Episode IIIb.: What we couldn't fit into the Fall of the Jedi.
Star Wars Episode IIIc.: The Tie-In to A New Hope

(Episode III could be it's own "sub trilogy") :lookaroun
