You original post said that there had not been a movie since Revenge of the Sith, that was clearly an incorrect statement this my confusion.
The post you quoted mentions Force Awakens and I said I edited so it was clearer. Disney released Force Awakens, so I thought it was pretty clear I was talking about it being 10 years since anyone got a dose of Star Wars and Disney took advantage.

Anyway, whatever. They are going to push Star Wars hard because people love it and the saga was pretty much dead for the last decade.

So, you think Disney creating an ADDITIONAL 2 DAY EXPERIENCE, coupled with an overhaul of the Studios with at least 5 (maybe 6 or 7) new attractions, transforming Animal Kingdom to a proper full day park, a major attraction at Magic Kingdom and a likely overhaul of EPCOT over the 5-6 years is going to result in people leaving WDW?

You're essentially asserting that Disney creating an experience outside the typical 4-6 day visit is going to result in people choosing to spend less time there- especially at hotels?

Whatever you're drinking- I don't want it. Drunkenness can't even account for logic that bad. ;)

In actuality I was being glib and not treating the topic with the proper seriousness, which in this case seems to have upset some folks (not you).

The basis of my comment was simply that any time guests change hotels, you run the danger of them changing hotels to ones you don't own. This isn't always the case, of course - back in the day, I would frequently switch between multiple Disney hotels on a single trip.

And just to nitpick -- as far as I know, the Studios are getting four new attractions, of which two are incredibly unimpressive (and two are likely to be incredibly impressive). It also has another attraction replacement rumored. EPCOT has one new attraction confirmed and a potential "overhaul" we've been hearing about for years. And AK has always been a full day park as far as I was concerned, one of two at WDW.

I honestly don't know who you think I am, but yes, I am a new member. I've been reading these boards for years, so I'm familiar with many of the personalities - I know who the trustworthy insiders are, for instance.

Been reading for years.. and now the light switch just goes off.. and we're off to the races with high volume and sliding right in. Never introducing yourself, locking your profile, just jumping right in. Got it.

OK, this really annoys me. Yeah, I decided to start posting a few weeks back. And I've been reading these forums for years, so I was broadly familiar with the players - including yourself. I still got things wrong, of course - I was unfairly short with Kman, for instance, and would really like to apologize to them. You do know that people who don't post are allowed to read these forums, right?

I wasn't aware that I was required to introduce myself to you or anyone else, but here goes: Hi! I really like Disney! I loved WDW back in the 80s and early 90s but feel they are mismanaged now! Despite this, I hold out hope they will get back on the right track! What's more, I think a lot of the new additions, including Dinoland, Little Mermaid, and Tiki Room: Under New Management were enjoyable attractions that didn't deserve the attacks they got here! I am also a big fan of what Universal and Disneyland have been doing over the last decade! I also really like Star Wars, Marvel, and classic Hollywood! Hi!

It's awesome to know you've been checking up on me in your function as message board police, but I don't owe you a thing. My profile stays locked. Again, I have no idea who you've convinced yourself I am, but this reaction is out of line.

He just reported on what was on the survey... meaning a survey invite forwarded it to him the details and screenshots. I wonder if they showed the video.. it's not in his story, so I guess they didn't get that part :)

And I slightly cringe when I see him on local news talking about it ...

My theory (and perhaps I'm being a bit to fanciful in my thinking) is the current lay down yard for the DHS remodel will eventually become the land plot for the Star Wars hotel/experience and it will connect to DHS with dedicated transport system that looks something like a people mover but with a different drive system. This would do a few things. It would push the resort away from the park leaving the expansion pad alone, It would hide the resort maintaining its exclusivity and the transportation going over Osceola parkway would serve as a good advertisement and way to get guests excited as they head towards the new park entry point at Osceola parkway & Victory Way.

Here's the plot SWL is/will be just past the bottom left corner of the picture.

Not sure I follow.

I got similar treatment when I began posting here too, I believe from you and others.

Why is it whenever someone new offers opinions, they're expected to kiss the rings and submit to some sort of doxing/initiation of being accused of a former poster. It's a cancer on these forums. It keeps the forums pretty well insulated and relegated to a "senior poster" echo chamber. I can't count the number of times I've seen members here doing this kind of thing. What's it for?

I don't think most trolls make new names to come back and post- it defeats the purpose.

Star Wars wasn't dead after Sith. The EU was alive and well before Disney killed it.

Now, the RotJ to Thrawn Trilogy years, that was dead.

For whatever dumb reason, there do seem to be a few posters that you better not disagree with, or else you will get jumped all over.

The Star Wars Celebration convention this last weekend in Orlando had over 70,000 in attendance:

The $700 Jedi Master VIP tickets for the convention sold out within the first 10 minutes:

Disney even had a DHS $129 5-hour ticket event to coincide with SWC:

There are a lot of Star Wars fans that would pay $1000 for a 2 day Star Wars experience.

I've been here longer than all of you, so I think you all should kiss my ring:D

So you think most people will do this multi-thousand dollar experience and then tack on a regular $4000-6000 Disney vacation on top of that?

And you think it's absurd to ponder the concept that folks would do the StarWars Camp for Rich Manchildren followed by a few days at Potter/Mario World?

You mean like the thousands of who spend 5-10k on a Cruise, and then bookend their trip with a stay at the Poly or GF?

Do we think Discovery Cove is booked out by locals?? Or people who spend 2-3x the going single day rate for something and then continue their vacation elsewhere?

I'm wondering if this would work as some sort of mini resort franchise. If I'm paying top dollar for total immersion over two days do I really want to spend one of them in a theme park I can visit anytime or would I want to stay immersed in the resort for as long as I can? If it's the latter why not build stand alone Star Wars resorts like the original Disney quest plans.

You're still forgetting the Clone Wars animated series and video games. Both of which were mainstream and some of those games sold huge amounts of copies.
I'm a Star Wars nerd, so I'm not really forgetting the Clone Wars. If you step out into reality, 99% of people have heard of and see Force Awakens. Some percentage WAY under 50% know anything about the Clone Wars and probably even fewer have actually watched it.

Uhh.. no

The Franchise was still very much alive and churning with active properties before Lucas handed it over to Disney and Disney announced the new films. And certainly no one had FORGOTTEN about it either. So maybe not front of mind for you.. but certainly not the measure of relevance.
Uhh...yes.

And you can disagree...that's fine. I know most people (Mainstream) only know anything about the 7 major movies, period.
