Star Wars 2.0???

I did a search on this and found nothing but I could be using the search wrong. I know nothing offical has been announced but if it does happen do you think it will be related to the classic trilogy or will we be stuck with Jar Jar binks as our new pilot?

God, let's hope not! I would assume that the simulation would have to focus on a great space battle, and most of them were in the original trilogy.

But Star Tours, as much fun as it still is, could use a sprucing up. But it is still a great queue.

I have a bad feeling that the Star Tours theme will be dropped all together and if Lucas has his way it will be based on the new trilogy. I can see it know " Hi I'm your pilot Jar Jar freaking Binks".

The Star Tours theme may be dropped. I would be neither here nor there on that.

But Lucas will want to keep the Star Wars theme and excitement alive. I don't think he an do that with a Jar Jar pilot.

That being said, if the new simulator was incredible, but I had to put up with a little Jar Jar, I'd consider it an OK trade-off

I can imagine they would have elements from both the original and new trilogies.

Although most of the elements from the original ride would remain the samelike the death star battle except with better SFX. And hopefully, they'll get rid of all the cheesy 80's stuff like the safety video.

Mostly because of the Jedi Training Academy Show they put out front of the ATST...it used to fire water too....

I would think that Lucas would want to capitalize on his new animated Clone Wars series and force that into a new Star Tours. (At the same time trying to figure out a way to work in swinging from trees amongst CGI monkeys in the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular)

The 80s safety video is classic cheese at its finest! About as cheesy as Luke saying he has to "go get some power converters"

I always thought it'd be cool if either the ride video changed up each time (like ToT's randomizer) or you could pick your ride video.

Something with the feel of both trilogies would be pretty cool - maybe a new battle/event that takes place during the dark times between both trilogies. Ooh, ooh :wave: and have some mynocks start to chew on your ship during the ride!!

Has anybody here watched the "Clone Wars" cartoons? The name of one of the head clones is Captain Rex - just like the pilot droid in Star Tours.

The AT-AT in the front still fired water when I was there in May.

How about flying along-side Anakin and Obi-wan in the space battle at the beginning of Revenge of the Sith...That was an amazing scene...

they could also replicate the different speeder scenes...snow speeders on Hoth, speeder bikes from Endor and pod racers from Tatooine...3 different choices of rides you choose..
