Star Tours to close on 8 September 2010 for major refurbishment into Star Tours 2 3D

Anyone other than me think that "The Last Flight" is now more like the... "Almost last flight, come back next month, for the "The Real Last Flight, No Kidding, We promise this time..."

On a more serious note, has anyone noticed a newer trend as of late on Park improvements. I wonder if Glendale is wanting to give TDO the boot as it seems they've been putting the boot in TDO's rear as of late. To which I'm glad. :sohappy:

With the small screens they currently use, its hard to imagine a 3d effect. Any thoughts on this?

If they manage to stick to the orignal plans it won`t matter...

Just out of curiosity why does this site keep referring to the attraction as "star tours 2 3D" the attraction name is "star tours II" adding 3d to the title sounds so cheesy.

It's a common practice - the movie industry does the same thing when a sequel receives a 3D version of the title. For instance, with the re-releases of Toy Story and Tory Story 2 last year, they were in the theaters as both their given titles, and "Toy Story/Toy Story 2 in 3D".

Except that neither Disney nor lucasfilm is referring to it like that. I just feel this site is unintentionally making the new ride sound tacky

Yes. And with some serious modifications.

I am glad to hear that. Doing a major video overhaul and keep on using the same outdated simulators without any updates would be a waste of resources.
