The Disney Parks Blog announced today that DL's Star Tours is reopening June 3rd!

Grand opening June 3: And for those who dare to venture into the deep, dark corners of the universe, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue officially launches in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park, taking guests on interstellar adventures to Coruscant, Tatooine, and other destinations in the “Star Wars” galaxy. With the return of favorite Star Wars characters and the addition of more familiar faces and destinations, guests are going to experience Starspeeder travel in an all-new way…in 3D!

Also a quick look at the tarps, this time themed, usually DLR just does the tan colored tarps since most re-painting takes about a month. I believe the tarps/scaffolding come down March 18...

I think overall that the improvements to the parks, and at least what is on display in the Wine Cellar in California Adventure will make the parks just that much cooler. Time will tell, but it's looking very impressive.

The Star Tours facade has had its scaffolding removed, revealing a new color scheme. Lots more blues and silvers, it matches with the new pavement.

I caught this note from Mr. Lutz on the front page of Miceage this afternoon on my iPhone, but didn't want to try posting here until I could get home to a real computer.

"Editor's Note 4/7: It's not announced yet, but official Cast Member Previews for Star Tours 2.0 are now scheduled for May 16th through the 19th. Soft openings for park visitors could begin immediately after that, while the CM Previews begin for Little Mermaid on the 20th. They've gone with the later timetable that was discussed in the last update, waiting for the park to recover from the Pirates Premiere before they begin previewing this summer's new rides. - Al Lutz"

It won't be long now! :wave:

Although, I would imagine since the WDW version officially opens two weeks before the Disneyland version, we'll have reports of WDW soft openings before the Disneyland Cast Member Previews start May 16th.

Editor's Note 5/6: Disneyland's Star Tours has one new Starspeeder finished, while the other three race to completion over the next week. Hundreds of Disneylanders rode it today in test mode and the first reviews are very positive. The facility keeps its good bones yet looks brand new throughout, from the fully reskinned and effects-heavy queue and more luxurious looking pre-show to the familiar but slick new cabins. The 3D CGI effect is subtle yet impressive, and the randomization gimmick had everyone comparing their different journeys. This one looks and feels like a hit. - Al Lutz

Sounds good! I'm surprised this news is coming out of Disneyland first instead of DHS, since the ride doesn't officially open at Disneyland until June 3rd. But there it is.

Yeah, it was six weeks before the DHS closure. Along with the two extra weeks after the DHS opening, before the Disneyland version officially opens on June 3rd, the Disneyland version had an extra eight (8) weeks of rehab than the DHS version.

And yet Disneyland has four Starspeeders instead of six at DHS, so you would think it would be the exact opposite and the Disneyland version would have the shorter rehab schedule.
