My Ideas for Star Tours 2 compliment the new Star Wars movies.
First off, new computer generated special effects would replace the flight simulator's old visuals that you see on the screen. The ride its self would be the same except for the new visuals. Second, Rex, the robot Pilot needs a total face-lift. Third, you'll be traveling to Naboo instead of Endor. Fourth, in the queue area, you'll go thruogh a large room that resembles a an air port terminal with a Star Wars twist. Large television sceens have advertisments from all over the galaxy like: "Watto's Junk Shop. If it's not Watto's, it's just junk!" , "Bib Fortuna and Aschochiates want Twi'lek girl dancers!" , "Dantana Moorse for galactic senator! Give Senator Palpatine the boot!" and so on and so on.
As you progress through the queue, you go into another room where C-3PO and R2-D2 are working on the damaged space craft like in the original Star Tours. But around you, the room is under construction and you see a sign that says "Coming soon to the Star Tours Intergalctic Space Port: New Ship Docking Bays! Please Pardon our dust." Then you see the same android working on those robots on the original Star Tours until you finaly get on the ride. Please tell me what you think!

Well I think for an update I would like to see more than a new qeue, a clearer film and a different destination.....

Do you have any ideas to actually change the content of the ride film?

Well, I havn't really thought this out yet. I think I'll brain storm about this for a while. I think there should be somthing like ..................OH!!!!!!! Maybe after when Rex goes the wrong way and down into the matinence bay of the space station, while narrowly missing other ships and turning another corner, he flies into power couplings (seen in Star Wars: Episode 2) which are two towers that spark bolts of electricity from oneanother. Well, Rex flies between the two towers and the electricity focuses on the ship, hitting it with bolts of electricity. Special effect inside the simulator could make it look like sparks and electricity is flying around the cabin. Finally Rex flies the ship out of the space station and to safety. Well I'm out of Ideas for now. I'll post more when I have them. :D

More ideas!

For some new stuff on the Death Star scene, after you get pulled up in the tractor beam of a Star Destroyer and get realeased thanks to the help of a fellow X-wing, you get hit by blaster fire from a TIE fighter. (fake) Smoke will blow in the ship with red lights behind the smoke blower to make it look like fire and explosions happening in the cabin. As the ship looses altitude and pluges down toward the Death Star, Rex will call upon R2-D2 for ship repairs, but just as R2 starts, TIE fighter blaster fire hits R2 and R2 gives his famouse YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sound. Then the ship hurtles down toward the Death Star. I'm still thinking about more stuff. Tell me your comments!!! :)

Entire Script of the new ride

Most of the ride will be the same except for a few changes.

1. Fly through power couplings in matinence bays. (see above)

2. R2-D2 gets hit by TIE fighter (bad guy ship) blaster fire.

3. After the ship dives down toward the Death Star and weaves between blaster towers on the ship, an X-wing (good guy ship) tries to tow the damged Star Tours ship away from the Death Star with a tractor beam, but TIE fighters shoot him down and the Star Tours ship plunges down into the trench.

I'm going to get more ideas! Tell me what you think.

Forgive me for bumping this one to today from so long ago, but I have an idea: some versions of the attraction have four simulators each and others have six. I was thinking of the number of rumors of what Star Tours may or may not have for replacements. I've been thinking: given the number of each simulator per ride, how about putting a different ride into a different simulator? This way, it will be win-win. Here's a breakdown of which one will be which:

  • Flight 1: Endor, only to end up at Death Star (same ride as usual)
  • Flight 2: Tatooine, Pod Racer from Episode I
  • Flight 3: Hoth
  • Flight 4: Yavin IV
  • Flight 5: Naboo
  • Flight 6: Dagobah

The six flights apply only to the versions in Florida and France. California has four and I think Japan has only four, too. What do you think of these ideas? The only reason I'm bumping this thread is because to not waste bandwidth. Anyway, what do you think about my ideas?

As long as the que is not run by TSA, we have no problems.:ROFLOL:

the only problem with this is that what if a guests perfer one flight over another flight, and they want to ride on that flight... will u be able to pick your flight? ... i think that picking your flight would be a good way to start possibly... and then you could see which Flight guests like better and then put that one in all the simulators

Well, I think the cast members tell everyone which flight they will do and then they arrange which simulator for you to go to. You know: "How many in your group?" and then they say how many they have and then they say, "Over to Two, please..." You know, they do something like that. I think that's the whole beauty of it: unless you've been on every simulator several times each time, then you can never be too sure which simulator you get. It's like IJA at Disneyland, where, upon boarding your car, which leaves the station, you go through one of three different rooms at random: a gold room (symbolizing riches), a turquoise room (symbolizing youth) or a purple room (symbolizing knowledge). Now, granted, there all the same room just different colors, but still.

Anyway, the cast member could arrange a different simulator for Star Tours and consequently, a different trip. These ideas of mine are simply so that we can still have the ride as we know as well as some new flights. It's win-win.

So I just read that all versions of Star Tours, save for CA, have six simulators. CA has only four. So now the big question: which four of the six trips should be in California's version?

Flight 1: Endor, only to end up at Death Star (same ride as usual)
Flight 2: Tatooine, Pod Racer from Episode I
Flight 3: Hoth
Flight 4: Yavin IV
Flight 5: Naboo
Flight 6: Dagobah

There is only one unbreakable rule: one of the flights must still be the Endor trip (AKA the same ride as we all remember).

ya it definately needs new flights... maybe narrow it down to the top 3 flights because if seventy percent of the guests who ride it like one flight better than another than the lines would be very long with only one simulator running for that specific flight

For theme I like the pod race at Tatooine, or a chase through Coruscant. For the latter, the queue could be the Outlander Club; for the former, Watto's junk shop.

Okay, maybe the top three flights can be done. But that's only in non-CA Disney parks, in Florida, Japan and France (each has six simulators, the top three could be two each, you know what I mean?). Which two of the three should Disneyland get (that one has only four simulators, hence the question)?

My idea would be to keep the old ride, turns Sounds Dangerous into a Star Wars attraction and turn the Backlot food area into a Mos Eisley Cantina complete with an AA Band and interactive CMs dressed as Stormtroopers and Greedo

ok... i see where you are coming from.. more rides = greater selection = more fun... and to be honest i dont really no much about star wars.. so i would not recognize all the scenes that you mentioned.. so i have no idea which one would be better than the other... but anyway i am 100% behind you for an updated star tours

actually i think that is a cool idea... and i have been planning out a show that takes place in the canter of the earth with a group of outrageous AA rockers... that showcase one electifying rock concert with lasers and special effects.
