Standard Room At Wilderness Lodge??

I am staying in a standard view room at Wilderness Lodge in Aug and when I tried to upgrade, it was just too much of a difference...+$300 for woods and +450 for courtyard....since we don't spend too much time in the room, does it really matter? Although I do NOT want to look at a service area or garbage, like some people on here have said they had to look at. The reservation agent took my request for not looking at those things, but I am still worried...Could anyone tell me something positive about standard view? thanks for all the info!

if you upgrade to a woods view ask for a room ending in 022-032...room 6030 is our favorite in that hallway. You will over look the little bog in the back and see some wildlife, those rooms overlook the castle and you may be able to see that and the MK fireworks. We stayed there for our second visit to the WL (we've been over 10 times now) and our girls were able to fall asleep watching the fireworks and watching the castle change colors.

You will be near an elevator, if you take it you will come out at the bottom of the ramp by the Roarin Forks snack bar and just across from the laundry room.

We were just down the hall from the room you're talking about. We stayed in 6021. The only thing I'm wondering, though, is how could anyone fall asleep on that balcony watching the fireworks and the castle changing colors? The balcony we had was solid wall, and not railing, so we had to stand in order to see anything. If we sat down, all we could see was up. Or did you get a balcony with a railing on that side of the hallway?

I never mentioned a balcony, they were in the room on the bed facing the slider; balconies that far up are all solid.
