Everytime I go there, they're yelling at the guests and have angry attitudes. It's Disney, they should be treating the guests good. The main employee who was rude was "Miguel." I even saw guests and co workers looking at him like "why are you so angry?"

I've told guest relations about him before, he seem meaner everytime. I avoided Animal Kingdom for a month just cause of the employee attitudes. I went back today thinking it would be better. It was the same. How can u be so rude to guests who are keeping your paycheck coming? I hope Disney fixes this. Guests should have fun at Disneyworld, not get yelled at.

Have you talked to anyone about it since it has happened more than once? And, if others have noticed? I'm not sure where you would go, but I am sure there is someplace in DAK that you should be able to go.

Yeah, well, now if only you would've used the search function, you would've known we talked about this like, every week or so. But okay, here goes:

The Everest CM's have been trained to treat guests with the same respect as a 747 crew. But what Disney didn't realise, was that this caused cracks to appear in their relationship with the trade unions. You see, Everest employees have three seperate trade unions, one for the on-stage CM's, one maintenance crew for technical upkeep and the track, and one maintenance crew for the mountain and surrounding. Training and payment of the CM crew was so good, it caused rifts to appear with the other unions. So to appease these unions Disney had to lower the standards of the on-stage CM's too. They now operate the coaster with only the basic requirements of hospitality. Management calls this M-mode: Miguel-mode. No actual hospitality is provided in this mode, only a faint impression of it.
To hide this embarrasment, Disney has turned off all of Everest's effects, to dissuade as many guests as possible from being confronted with the rude B-mode CM crew.

Yeah.

Is Miguel the hispanic guy with glasses? If so, he was very rude to me back in January when I asked a question. I almost cussed him out, but instead told him to have a magical day with what I meant was a Disney day.

Anyways, I have noticed that E:E CMs seem to be a bit more annoyed, but other then that one instance, I've never had one been particularly rude to me. Most of them are more stern then anything else, but I have notice some aggravated behavior.

I can honestly say I've never been yelled at or treated rudely by CMs at EE or in AK in general. In fact, most go out of their way to be helpful and friendly.

Certainly, if you have a specific complaint, bring it up at Guest Relations.

Yeah, well the OP didn't. If you are unhappy about answering this again I would say simply do not answer. While I understand frustrations about certain topics not being searched I am not quite sure that inquiring about a CM merits this kind of rebuke. Perhaps I too am a pinhead but I would not have thought to search for "Miguel bad CM". I myself would hope that this would be an isolated incident and not an ongoing issue. It is too bad that the unions have WDO bent over the barrel but I guess this is what we as a country have let ourselves become.

It is admirable that you are in the know and are willing to share your knowledge with others as this is what these boards are about but if it becomes a labor or irritating to answer then maybe it would be best to simply move onto the next thread.

I'm pretty sure the post about Unions was made in jest... Disney would not instruct its staff to treat guests badly to appease the Unions.

I would definitely take this complaint to GR. I have has the same experience on Mission Space a few times. It is very irritation especially being a former Disney College Program CM. There is no reason they should be rude, grumpy..ect. It is your job. If you don't want to do it, get lost there are plenty of others that would kill to take your place.

That is all well and good saying that but please remember, cast members are only human beings just like me and you.

I am not excusing what has been reported to happen at Expedition Everest but I have never personally witnessed that on said attraction.

What I can say though, sometimes people wake up in a bad mood, sometimes people have a fight with loved ones, sometimes people loose family members. What ever the reason cast members can't be 100% happy all of the time, it would be purely fake.

The majority of cast members that I have met over the many years of visiting Disney theme parks have been great though, some happier than others some up for a good laugh, some interested in just doing their job.

I have never personally witnessed over the top rude cast, but know of a friend that has done, when reported to Guest Relations they were formed that it would be dealt with. As long as it is brought up with the cast member and now swept under the carpet, I have no problem with that.

in this particular case the OP is saying the CM is grumpy/rude on multiple occasions spanning different months or weeks. If this is happening to others as well then I wouldn't give the CM the "Everyone can have a bad day" pass. I would give him a "someone needs to find a role with less guest interaction" pass.

So...singling out a specific CM with whom you've had a poor experience by name on the internet, that just doesn't quite sit right with me. By all means, if you have a bad experience please feel free to stop by Guest Relations. That's one of the many reasons they exist. Even better, approach another CM in the same area and ask to speak to a manager. It's a much easier and more direct way of dealing with a situation like this. However, if you had a bad day at work or, perhaps, made some poor decisions, would you want to find people criticizing you by name and work location on the internet?

Agreed. Of course, I wouldn't complain about long wait times for some rides, or the fact that some FPs run out on rides. But that's just me......

I can honestly say I have never experienced rude or hateful CMs. My interaction with them is minimal at best when I am entering or exiting a ride. Also, nothing against the OP but if you consistently experience poor customer service over and over again, and others do not seem have the same experience, maybe you are expecting to much out of each encounter.

Last time we were there we saw two saints working EE. I'm sure the guests they were interatcting with didn't think so but those behind the people holding up the entire line felt sorry for the CM. Seriously arguing with him when they wanted to get about 10 people on with 5 FP or trying to push a stroller into the queue. Somthing similar happened twice while we were there.
