Hello, i just luv these message boards, a lot of useful info. But, does anyone have actually have a clue about things that go on in the WORLD. I mean, aren't there like thousands and thousands of people that live in Orlando and work at the World,i'm in Pa. so i'm count'n on you guys, doesn't anybody know anybody or actually work there to get some accurate info????? The WDW site still says SE is closed thru Feb. 18, 2008 with opening on the 19th. But someone wrote on merf's "video on SSE" thread that the soft was like on Dec. 12th and the hard on Dec. 18?? And XS-spence is writing today that he is looking forward to the soft on Dec. 3??? What gives?? Does anyone actually work at/on SSE whether it be a CM, imagineer or contractor who has a real clue. Cause i was just there in Sept. and missed SSE and i'm going back from dec. 12-18th for my 40th birthday and i'd luv to ride that great wonder...SSE on Dec. 17th. Am i missing something? Sorry bout the rant.

Yes, there are TONS of folks on these boards within belching distance of WDW. However, just because you're nearby doesn't mean you're guaranteed instant access to all info.

Local Guy: "Hi, I live over in Celebration. Can you please show me the blueprints and concept art for the Spaceship Earth overhaul and give me an update on whether or not the construction is on schedule?"
WDW Guy: "*punch*"

This board is one of the best places to find info, but all info is UNOFFICIAL... what people are hearing from different sources. Keep in mind one person might hear from a carpenter, who could be done on one date, while another is hearing from a plumber who might be done on another date. And beyond that, WDI keeps such a tight lip on everything that it's a wonder we get out anything at all. Just think how much of a surprise we all had when we found out about Dame Judi Dench being the (supposed) voice of SSE... we were all set for "time travels, engage."

Sit back, enjoy the ride, and in the words of Crush, "go with the flow." :)

For the most part, people that actually, absolutely, for sure have information...are working on SSE. Around here we seem to have alot that have half the story or less. There's no doubt that some here are connected at SOME level but anyone here that tells you that they absolutely, by God know...is likely not really 100% credible. Not that they are lying, they just don't have the whole story. If you read back through the hundreds of threads and posts about SSE for the last six months you'll see that even the "insiders" have only been right about 50% of the time. Take it with a grain of salt and ride it out. It will be open when it's done and ready. I'd really like to believe that it is, in effect, "done and ready" and will be good to go in a few weeks. I'd like to believe that the story about a scene being removed is as preposterous as it sounds. I'd like to believe that my original amateur guess of December 1 is close to spot on. But I don't really know any better than anyone else.

Well I can guarantee with 100% certanty that I do know for an absolute fact SSE will be open only after it is re-opened.

I have to disagree. All rumors have truth behind them. Most people who give out information have some connection to the info. It may be that it is three people away, but the disemination of info is still happening.

While these dates might not be totally true, I believe with all the rumors flying around Spaceship Earth will open during the month of December.

It would be great if they were ready to start some soft openings late December/early january, but with the Disney website stating February, I'd almost have to go with them :(

All rumors have truth behind them.

Ummm, have you spent much time online, or in Disney websites, SpectroMan? I think it's safe to say that all rumors start somewhere. And some of them have a kernal of truth, some of them are spot on, and some of them have no truth whatsoever. There's even the type of rumor that's started by really nasty people who just want to stir the pot and then sit back and watch the fallout.

So I think I can say categorically that no, all rumors do NOT have truth behind them.

That was kind of my first thought, too. But I realized that that Spectro was referring to rumors HERE. MOST of the people that spread rumors here seem to have some insight into whatever the situation and are looking to be legitmately helpful to the best of their abilities. We don't seem to have much of the element that is all over the rest of the internet.

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
So I think I can say categorically that no, all rumors do NOT have truth behind them.

That goes double if its coming from a bus & or monorail driver... or from someone who is at the helm of a friendship boat... (or any disney boat -- just disney transport in general...lol). :lookaroun
