Well, here's a different kind of spring. I tagged along with DH on a business trip to Mexico...it may look like summer, but I promise you- it was spring. Hey...either way, it looks warm.

And to think he pretty much had to beg me to go on this trip.
Looks like a lovely place. Never been to Mexico, but we spent a week at Atlantis in the Bahamas a few years ago and it was amazing. Most beautiful beaches we have ever seen. My wife had to talk me into it because I am kind of a tightwad, but it was one of our best trips ever.

DH has really wanted to go to Atlantis, but other things always keep coming up. I've heard it's totally worth the $. Sounds like it was a good thing that your wife talked you into it. :) This trip to Mexico was for his company's top performers. They do some huge trip to someplace cool every year and spouses are encouraged to tag along since there are plenty of wine & dine sort of events and excursions. I was afraid because you hear so much bad news coming out of Mexico, but apparently certain sections are still very safe. I can safely say that I will never go zip-lining through the rainforest ever again (or anywhere else for that matter), but I'm glad I went.

Highly, highly recommend Atlantis.
Zip lining through the rainforest sounds great. Looks like a great trip.
My wife, a couple of years ago, jumped out of an airplane at 14,000 feet AGL and there was nothing wrong with the stupid plane. I stayed on the ground and took pics as she came in. It was a tandem skydive. Not me, but I might zip line.

I need spring! Oh, like the HHI pic...we went there in Dec., and while it was chilly, we still had a great time. It is a beautiful resort.
I need spring! I need time to leave windows open and let the outside air in. This is actually one of my fears. It gets warm enough to turn off the heat, and then the next day, we have to turn on the air. And yes, sometimes you do both in one day in Chicagoland.

Thanks y'all!

This little guy had a really strange texture that I was able to capture In a photo :) hairy feeling stem, beady leaves. It was almost ready to unfurl, I really liked the curled look though.

And here's a few orchids, getting ready to bloom. :)

This one is one of my favorites... (It's also award winning!)

Omg, that looks gorgeous! I could totally...live there. Haha! The sun is out today and I woke up thinking about the seeds I bought yesterday. I almost thought it was a nice spring day. Wishful thinking!

DH loved zip lining...me, not so much. I was really hoping he'd opt for the snorkeling or charter fishing trip, but he was all about the zip! My highlight was getting to handle some of their macaws and eating some of the owner's mom's homemade food. I share your feelings on skydiving. I will dive with sharks, but there is no way you'll catch me jumping from a plane. Although, I do like watching others skydive. We live about 20 min from a skydiving facility. We like to sometimes sit in the church parking lot across the street from the landing field and watch the divers as they come back to earth.

It's funny because I am not much of a beach person (I blame my parents for making me spend nearly every summer day of my childhood at the beach). Still, it's kind of hard to resist when it's really pretty blue water.

In some ways, I'm thankful it's cold today. Softball practice was canceled today and tomorrow...so I don't have to run around like a chicken without a head. The seeds reminded me that DH and I need to have a garden discussion soon since our planting season is just around the corner.

I'm having similar discussions but only with myself. Lol :) I do all the gardening and prefer others to keep out. It's my time, darn it! I grew pumpkins last year and a handful of flowers. This year I'm aiming for more veggies, flowers and maybe some strawberries...if my doggie doesn't eat them first.

I use my Halloween/Fall pumpkins and gourds in the compost in the garden. I usually pull them as DH doesn't want me growing anything that could take over the garden, but considering the price of these things...I told him I'm leaving them if they sprout this year. Our basil and mini heirloom tomatoes come back every year, so I never have to plant those. I'm thinking about a more extensive herb garden with dill, cilantro and parsley. Beyond that- who knows. :)

I saved pumpkin and acorn squash seeds for this year. I let them take over the one side of the yard, I like to watch them grow!

I'm planning an herb garden but for inside my mudroom... I'm going to build window greenhouses!

We always have one thing that dominates in the garden each year. Usually it's the cucumbers, but last year cantaloupe reigned supreme. This year, it's going to be the pumpkins or turban gourds. Love the window greenhouse idea! We do something similar with DH's strawberries once it starts to get really hot here. I'm hoping to use the sections of his old smoker to try and make a covered herb garden, but we'll see if I get around to it in time.
