Spring Break?

Hi everyone!

We have planned a trip for January...we like to visit WDW then because of the crowd level (or lack of), the fact that it is value season, and timing for us (time off from school, work, escape from cold temps). We're interested in visiting over my spring break in March, but we're concerned about crowd levels. I over heard someone in a class of mine saying they have friends who are off this week, while ours in March 23-27.

I'm curious to know when in March your spring break is (if you have one, or know of someones), as I am trying to get some idea of when most spring breaks are. I know that no matter what week really, it'll still be a little crowded...just trying to get a general idea. Thanks a lot!

I work with 2 college students. One had spring break last week and one has it this week. Every school is different. I would say that March would be a little more crowded than Jan. I've never been during either month so I'm just repeating what I've read on here.

Spring Breaks will start this week and run through about the 20th of April. My SB from Georgia Southern is next week. I also get the week of April 6th off b/c the school I am student teaching at has that week off.

Spring Breaks are spread out over at least six, sometimes seven weeks throughout North America. Primarily to extend the bounty for resort destinations. If everyone had the time off the same week, all the resorts would be booked to the rafters for one week and a lot who might travel wouldn't be able to find anywhere left to go.

When I was in Bermuda in the mid-90's Spring Breaks were a great source of lovely young college girls to meet and party with. :D Every week a fresh crop...

Ah, to be in my 20's again... :o

We will be there for our spring break, March 21-28. Kids are back in school on the 30th (which is my birthday, so I just miss celebrating it there!) Usually, for spring break we go to Door County, WI. It is the only time you may see a whole peninsula closed, and I mean put a sign up at the border to warn people they are closed! That week is their spring break, too. I guess before they deal with all the tourists, they want to get their own vacation in. I wonder how many people from there we will run into? We figured spring break at Disney would be a great change of pace! Instead of seeing no one, we'll just be part of the crowd.

The spring break at my college is next week. But as others have said, spring break is spread generally throughout March for colleges and throughout April for high schools. That being said, if you're going in March, I would imagine it's the better month of the two to be going, as the college demographic isn't necessarily one that Disney highly goes after. Of course it will be more crowded than January, but neither will it be Christmas/summer.

Schools do not plan their spring breaks to "extend the bounty for resort destinations." They schedule them based on the needs of their district. Sometimes the dates may be proscribed by law. I really doubt that Common County School District is looking at WDW resort bookings and basing the schools vacation schedult around it.
