We are planning a trip to WDW and Universal for March 24-April 3, 2017. Looking at crowd calendars across the Internet, I see mostly predictions of horrible crowds (but one web site saying it will be low crowds that week due to spring breaks being mostly before or after). I also have heard that Wrestlemania is being held in Orlando on April 2 and might impact park crowds. I am thinking of changing our dates. My question is, how bad will it really be that week with Easter being so late in 2017? Thank you in advance!!

Thanks for your reply. And yes I am afraid of the unpredictability of it, but I was kind of hoping someone had previously experienced going on spring break 3 weeks before a late Easter, or during a past Wrestlemania, to give me some insight into crowd levels.

It is so hard to predict Spring time crowd levels. Some school districts have gone to a fixed Spring Break that may or may not overlap with the Easter holiday. Other districts have kept a Spring Break fixed around the Easter holiday. Historically, Easter is such a busy time to go. You will also have the Flower and Garden, as well as the Star Wars Half Marathon in April. After looking at a popular crowd calendar, it appears that for several weeks through end of March and beginning of April, the crowd levels seem to all be the same ( 7 to 8 out of 10). Once you get to mid April, they go up to 10 out of 10 crowd level expectation. It looks like if you want a Spring trip, you have picked a time that is better then later in April. I hope this helps!

If you don't end up changing your dates (personally I wouldn't for reason you and others have stated, late Easter etc...) plan wisely and you should be fine. Spring is harder to predict because the variables change from year to year. Reserve ADR's and FP+ as soon as they are available to you and invest in a good touring plan. Thinking this far ahead is a good first step!
