just got back from the theater and really enjoyed the film. Just thought it was fun, had characters that they gave you a reason to care about, some good humor, some good action - maybe not a perfect script, but overall really fun time at the movies

Agree with the above, the Khans are national treasures and them and just the family dynamic is wonderful - glad they carreid that forward from the Ms Marvel tv show

I think the Memory gag might be the funniest joke in the entire MCU for me. I enjoyed this film so much more than I thought I was going to, and I can't wait to see it again. Beast seemed so much more inline with his comic version as well, should we expect to see Beast, Monica and Maria in Deadpool 3 as well?

I enjoyed it a lot. Great action, and great character interactions.

Knew about Beast, but glad they went with a more accurate depiction with CG versus Kelsey in makeup. So guess its an incursion that gets the Mutants over to 616 then. As I can't imagine they'll leave Monica (Pulsar) sidelined over there for very long.

Flerken kittens were great. Guess they reproduce without a mate as Goose has always been the lone one in the MCU.

I thought it could have used more time on Aladna, would have liked to see some more interaction between Princess Carol and the Prince. Does that make Captain Marvel an official Disney Princess now? :) Also thought it could have used more time exploring the swapping places story to build it up a bit more. And a bit more time between Carol and Valkyrie. So I would have added about 10-20 more minutes to the movie's runtime myself.

We knew it was happening, but we have the actual start of the Young Avengers with Ms Marvel leading the team.

The Memories sequence is the funniest scene in the MCU. Also loved the singing planet. I think the movie would have been overall if it had fully leaned into absurdity like those two sequences.
I mean, with the location switching and the emphasis on Kamala’s family, it really did.

One of the better MCU outings since Endgame.

I always go with friends for these Marvel event releases. Usually we're a group of 10 and reserve like half the row in an IMAX theater, however tonight we were just 4 of us. Everyone else just wasn't interested in seeing The Marvels. Quantumania (and probably more) really hurt their perception of the MCU in general I guess, and I would call most of them just casual fans. My theater only had like 25 total seats sold in an IMAX auditorium of ~230 seats for a 6:30pm show. Never seen this kind low of a turnout, especially on opening night. My AMC theater was just empty everywhere.

Anyways, really liked it. It did feel like a Phase 2 film where things actually mattered and felt connected. The chemistry and team-up of Capt. Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Professor Marvel (lol) was really great. Obviously Ms. Marvel was the highlight throughout (still have yet to see the show!)

The story itself was kinda pretty simple which I appreciated. Pacing was fast given the shorter runtime. There were some parts that I felt like were edited out that could've used some explaining.

The villian and Darr-Ben's motivation was also pretty simple, but wished the movie dived into it more. I was really interested in the Kree and Skrull civil war and stuff, especially after Secret Invasion. But it was mostly hand-waived through imo. Honestly that peace meeting and negotiations should've been explained in SI.

Colors were bright and fun. Fight scenes were very good. Loved the location switching choreography, especially their training reel. Song choices were nice.

As others mentioned, the Memories and the singing planet were comedic reliefs. Wished they went back to the latter and checked up on Capt. Marvel's Prince since they kinda left them for dead to fend off for themselves against the Kree.

The end scene with Kate Bishop was fantastic. Loved the callback to Iron Man's post-credit. Mid-credit was just as fantastic. For once, the credit scenes felt important and connected to the entire MCU.

Overall, probably a top 3 post-Endgame for me, among the likes of No Way Home and GOTG3. Guess I just really like "team-up" movies ha.

I think it was Fury who told Carol that they were sending aid to that planet.

Just saw it, thought it was fun and good. I rather loved the singing planet just the absurdity of it all. Memories was funny too but didn’t get me as much.

Obviously big bombshell with the after credit scene. Curious to see how that works out. Wondering if they almost might make that the new “prime” universe and just bring over what they want from the main MCU and be able to abandon whatever they feel hasn’t worked. Or if they’ll somehow merge the two.

The character interactions were top notch and that’s really what I love about the MCU. I’d call this an above average MCU film, certainly not the greatest but decent enough and not deserving of the low box office it is getting.

I saw it yesterday and really liked it. I do believe they rushed the whole private life aspect of Carol Danvers, and the relationship with Valkiry.

Loved just LOVED the family reactions and comedy with Kamala Khan. That was so well done.

Loved the whole team work aspect with Photon, Ms. Marvel and Capt. Marvel. That too was well done. The outtakes from this section is probably a full video in and of itself.

I also loved the fact that Kamala is driving the young Avengers. And they use of Beast to lead the Xmen review.

I also thought it was great fun. Quick, lots of fun absurdity, Captain Marvel actually got to have a personality. Iman + family were absolutely priceless.

When we reflect back on what has gone wrong with MCU, I think people will point to this movie incorrectly. They'll point to Ms. Marvel as a series incorrectly. It was the byproduct of disillusionment with the MCU, but really this movie is not the problem.

Can't help but reflect on maybe if we were down She hulk, Secret Wars and maybe even Falcon and Winter Soldier + Eternals/Moon Knight (as much as I liked it) and immediately heading into Young Avengers and Xmen was actually on the slate, there would be better engagement right now. I think they thought they were flying so high they could save the big guns (X-Men and F4) for way down the road.

As is a Young Avengers probably should have finished Phase 4. It ties in Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, Ant Man, Doctor Strange: MoM, Wakanda Forever, ?WandaVision and ?Spiderman into more of a neat bow. So much of these young actors are quite enjoyable.

I do really wonder, they've got to have Tom Holland as the lynchpin of a Young Avengers, right? Especially if Iman is gathering them up and trotting around due to proximity to New York City. If they didn't before, these conversations much be occurring, they really need that clout of that character. I mean, I guess the next Spiderman movie could actually just be SpiderMan + Friends.
