I have enjoyed this much better than I expected. It reminds me of the small story lines they used to have in the comics once in a while.

I thought Vera Farmiga has been telegraphing the villain thing from the start - to me it seemed she'd done everything but literally wink at the camera. :D But I'm sure the writers appreciate it being a surprise twist to others!

I loved both the girls night and the mom/daughter bonding in this (even if mom turned out to be a baddie).

And oh I'd love that man in the red suit, too! :devilish: But if he shows up somewhere else soon, PLEASE don't spoiler it in this thread without spoiler tags! :)

The show has been alright, but I'm not sold on Kate bishop, and I really don't like a lot of the dialog in the show so far. To me Yelena is far and away the star of this one.

So, I thought this at the end of black widdow and even more now. Am I the only one that remembers how hawkeye was supposed to kill Natasha but "made a different call" and keep thinking this is all set up for yelena to do the same thing?

So, I absolutely HATED the ending to this show. Down to the credit scene which I am so made I wasted time waiting through.

I thought the last episode was good. Could do without the credit scene, hope that is a one off and they don't do things like that more often.

Hoping Kingpin isn't done...but given how they panned away when she shot, and how the same thing happened in the comics and he survived (thanks Heavy Spoilers), I am thinking we will see him again.

The show is up there for me. I thought well done, looked forward to it each week. Loved the connections, and thought it all came together well. Keeping in mind what Feige has said about being careful with shows so that those that miss them don't miss too much, I think they do an incredible job still telling a story that moves the story along without doing just that.

Different people I guess. This may be my least favorite of all the shows. I never got into Kate Bishop, and still just don't buy into her. This feels like the first show that really setup nothing at all. Like, Kate is off with Clint, and Yelena went somewhere. But we have no idea where they will come back into play. Echo has a show coming up, and with the Kingpin reveal, you figure it's going to be her chasing him and leading to this epic showdown. But instead, they give us that big confrontation here, and it lasts like 5 seconds. Sure, he could survive being shot here, but this will forever be the first major showdown. And that credit scene, man, was I mad at that. I kept expecting something to happen. Like, someone in the crowd, or something to hint at the next move. And then that was it.

I knew going in that the end credit scene was not any big reveal so there is that.

Yea the credit scene was more than disappointing. I was really hoping for something to give me that "Oh yea! I can't wait for what's next!" Feeling.

This finale was a mixed bag for me. I really didn't dislike it. But at the same time, I never had the holy poop moment with it. So I really just ended up indifferent when it ended. If I hadn't seen it, I wouldn't have missed anything. I don't really regret watching it. But I also wouldn't tell anyone it's a must see.

While I thought the dialogue/writing was lacking in the finale (I thought the previous episode was far superior), I was happy to finally see Renner in the Hawkeye costume and all the trick arrows though it all felt very shoved together at the end with all of it.

None of the characters really feel paid off - mom ("someone had to pay the bills!"), boyfriend ("I like to play with swords and I'm looking for my fiancee who set me up to go to jail so I can protect her!"), Kingpin, Echo, Yelena, Larpers, Hawkeye, wife ("I may be somebody the comic fans know... or not!")... And Kate never landed for me as a character. She just seemed a goofball and a wannabe and I didn't get that moment where "you're my partner" felt totally earned.

Yelena continues to grow on me though.

Other biggest reactions:

I'm glad they made it clear by his outfit that this was a multiverse/different Kingpin. (The real R-rated Kingpin would never wear that gaudy shirt nor that ill-fitting a suit. And he'd've kicked this PG-rated Kingpin across town and back again without breaking a sweat, but with a lot more blood.) However, it still made me very happy to see Vincent D'Onofrio in a white suit again. :)

I wish I'd known in advance to grab some crackers to go with all that cheese of Rogers: The Musical! Though, I'll have to 'fess up that a part of me truly loved how awful it was and would get a kick out of seeing it performed in the Hyperion at DCA. :D Maybe paired with the Loki-written story of Thor and Loki and Odin from Ragnarok. lol

My current ranking of Disney+ Marvel shows:
  1. Falcon & Winter Soldier (by far my fave - satisfying both on the character level and action/plot)
  2. Hawkeye (last two episodes brought the grade up considerably from first four with major points just for Kingpin, plus Yelena's followup from the Black Widow movie, and I still am intrigued by Echo)
  3. Loki (I could watch Tom Hiddleston read the phone book for six hours and be thoroughly entertained. I adore Gugu Mbatha-Raw though she was totally underused here. I can take or leave Owen Wilson. That said, the show never came together for me. Though President Loki is everything. Plus the alligator.)
  4. WandaVision (love Vision and Darcy and Jimmy Woo and Agatha of course, and the sheer audacity of casting Evan Peters, and I really like Monica/Spectrum, but the show didn't stick the landing for me)
  5. What If? (too dark and depressing and would've preferred a true anthology show)

I enjoyed this series a lot overall. The new and returning characters were good which bodes well for their future use.

My only issue is that a human character like Hawkeye surviving these events and doing the things he does just isn't realistic. The scene where he shoots an arrow with extreme accuracy while flying through the air? Not buying that. Managing not to get hit by a bullet or other weapon while fighting dozens of bad guys? Nope.

Do we really need to do the "the bad guy was shot offscreen so clearly isn't dead" trope?

Are Broadway musicals really that bad? Was this a parody? I'm not clear. I was waiting for a cameo from a Marvel character in the audience.

I guess there were scheduling issues but Linda Cardellini clearly being edited into scenes was a bit jarring.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. I think I'd rank;

1) WandaVision
2) Loki
3) Hawkeye
4) What If
5) Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Yep. For me they are equal and loved every bit of them both…although the end credit scene tonight was of course cringe worthy, but it was supposed to be.

I'll put Wanda on top just for the originality of what they did. Hawkeye was a very straightforward show that was done very well. And just like Wanda, every episode of Hawkeye was consistently good. And yes the post-credit scene was supposed to be cheesy but fun. Just like the show itself.

Finally watched the last 2 episodes. The finale really packed a punch! Wow! Like Loki, it started slow (for me at least) and finished big. So I have one question. Is
Kingpin really dead for real for real?

I don’t think so. Heavy spoilers did a good bit on it at the end of his review of final episode. I thought it’s worth watching

Really enjoyed it!

But what’s with all the grumpy people in here who can’t enjoy the cheesy and hilarious mid-credits moment?

Maybe it’s because I love musical theatre… but I was STOKED they gave us the full thing. I am shook that they shot the entire thing.
