The data we actually need is attendance plus crowd movement.

After guests ride Rise, do they spend time in the land itself, interacting with it and enjoying it. Are Guests hacking, flying the falcon, ect.

We’ll really never know that data.

However, it is pretty clear at Disneyland that guests do not spend much time at Galaxy’s Edge as they do in every other land. I am excited to see how Rise affects Disneyland.
What is guest hacking?

Avatar = beastly kingdom for the most part. By all accounts the area is superbly done. I am surprised that Uni has not copied Flight into a Harry Potter dragon or Hippogrif(sp) ride. But you never know what they have planned for Epic. Avatar stands on its own without the movie.

Star Wars land is symbiotic with the movies. They are using direct character tie ins. There is also the SJW element and toxic, highly political actors bringing the franchise down. People associate the issues with the movies and then the land. The movies have been poor. They were poorly directed, they went off on a tangent. I think people, including me, expected episodes 7,8,and 9 to follow the books that were written that followed after the original trilogy. They kinda became canon. Instead we got political messages, SJW antics and basically a recap of the original trilogy.

I have no intention of ever watching this movie. The fanboys love it of course. I used to love Star Wars, still love the original. And I do give praise to Rogue One which was expertly done. I have no way to watch the Mandalorian, but I am hoping it is done along the lines of Rogue One.

If movies want to succeed I suggest they leave SJW politics and political rhetoric out of the movies. In short shut your mouth and entertain us. You are pretending after all.

As for Galaxies Edge. I have no way to get there to see it. But, what I have seen is interesting. Looks superbly detailed. Not sure it lives up to the hype. I like the character and guest interactions. I loved the video of the little girl giving the IMP Officer a piece of her mind. Of this can be maintained then the land will be successful.

Speaking of Epic Universe, they are building an entire land based on riding dragons, so...

You’re gonna believe what you want to believe

The only “game change” is if more people come and spend heaps of money specifically on Star Wars in the parks.
It is too early to tell.

The movies...however...will make that more difficult...not less

Much, much more difficult.

@Tom Morrow, you are crackin' me up today.

Complaining about people's confirmation bias and then, without a hint on irony, proceed to show us exactly what that looks like.

PRICELESS!
bias is calling Hagrid’s a game changer and downplaying the scope and ambition of RotR.

The ONLY people I know who have placed Hagrid’s on such a high pedestal are Universal team members and/or Clearly Universal fanboys.

And as usual every time I get called a Disney pixie duster for expressing criticism of Universal, feel free to check my post history and see that I regularly dish out criticisms to both.

I can back this up, about a week ago Tom was criticising the distribution times and opening times of Hollywood Studios.

Hagrid isn’t Spider-Man though. I didn’t even mention Spider-Man.

We were talking about people who are saying *Hagrid* is better than Rise.

You seemed surprised that anyone would say that Hagrids was better than Rise (as would I). I happen to think it's strange that people would rate Spiderman over Rise so used that as an example of people comparing ride A to ride B. At no point did I say you'd said Spiderman, I just assumed you get the point I was making.

Wait, you don't think there was anything political in the first 6 movies? Ok.

Confirmation bias is calling RotR a game changer while downplaying the scope and ambition of Hagrid's.

When in actuality, neither are "game changers" both are evolutionary not revolutionary. Both are an impressive collection of previously seen tricks. Both are great, but also have their faults.

There are very few actual game changers in this industry. Disneyland was a game changer by inventing the modern concept of a "theme park". WDW was a game changer by inventing the concept of a "Destination Theme Park Resort". FP was a game changer. Hogsmeade at IOA was a game changer by inventing the concept of the single IP land and by pulling the merch and F&B into to the theme. By definition, "game changer" has to change how the game is played.

Very few modern single attractions are "game changers". Pirates and Haunted Mansion were...60 years ago. Spider-man is truly the last "game changer" attraction that I can think of. I wish ToT was a game changer, but alas, no one seems to want to play that game. Which is sad because I love that ride. I don't even consider FJ a "game changer". It's a little bit Haunted Mansion and a little bit Spider-man with a cool new RV.

And I wasn't trying to single you out as a pixie duster. I think of you more as an experienced and observant theme park fan with a clear Disney bias. We all have our own biases. I, personally, am no longer a fan of slow moving RVs showing me repetitive robots that look like they are conducting an orchestra. It's like riding through an animated wax museum. Oooooo, exciting. Y'all seem to LOVE that, but meh. I am also over the simulator fall/catch gag. And I swear, if Universal spritzes me with water one more time...

All that said, I have ridden both RotR and Hagrid's 2 times each. And if you said I could hop on either right now, I would choose Hagrid's. It is just soooo much fun. I grin like the village idiot while riding it. The first time I rode RotR, I was jaw dropped twice. Once when the transport shuttle opened into the hanger, and in the At-At room. Unfortunately, that kind of "OMG" moment only works the first time. For that kind of "wow" moment I still prefer Gringott's Bank Lobby. It is just so beautiful, with the crystal chandeliers and inlaid floor. I don't even mind the vinyl wrapped columns.

Focus on the whole saga is what I’d do.
What I would do is turn everything between Star Tours and the tunnel to the Sequel Trilogy into Ep. 1-6 (sorry Muppets).

Have Star Tours be a shuttle between Tatooine and The Moon of Endor. Move the Launch Bay M&Gs and Jedi Training Academy to the new Moon of Endor area. That way, the first thing you encounter is Tatooine/Mos Eisley just like the original Star Wars: A New Hope. And by the time you get to TSL you are in the Sequel Trilogy.

I think one of the reasons I love Pandora is its beauty and lushness. How it complements AK perfectly and yet feels "light years" away. Now, ROTR is currently my second favorite attraction at WDW (ToT still has my heart), though I find it more environmental-theater-on-acid than traditional attraction. But I don't feel as awed in Galaxy's Edge proper. I'm a massive Star Wars fan and could care less about Avatar but I think there may just be some kind of aesthetic I'm responding to - floating mountains and foliage?

However, I also LOVE walking into Gringotts (which doesn't have floating mountains or foliage) because I get that same feeling. I can't describe it, though. I feel like game-changer is subjective and I may be looking for a different expression. I feel the same way climbing the lift inside the Seven Dwarfs diamond mine. It's not a thrill ride feeling, it's a sort of childlike wonder. And I've gone off the rails here considerably. :)
