^^^ I think it's better than another overpriced store at least.
What they need to build is a real life Flynn's Arcade. They could put a bar and dancing upstairs. Fill the place with classic arcade machines and air hockey.
Living in Orlando myself, i've probably been bowling 2-3 times, ate at the restaurant about 10 times and stopped by late after work for a drink or three (they're normally open until 2) about 50+ times.I've heard that the food is good enough that people will eat there without bowling.
^^^ThisCome on people.. are we really that out of touch with these types of venues?
It's not a bowling alley... It's a bar/resturant that uses bowling as it's entertainment gimmic. Some places have live bands, some have performance, some have video games, this is bowling.
The people who bowl at these places are people out to hang out with friends and bowl for an hour.. then have fun talking about how Lucy looked so goofy, or who dropped the ball, etc. Or parents taking their kids out for daytime entertainment.
These places do not look to be bowling meccas - They are upscale bars that focus on mixing some form of participation entertainment with your social gathering. They don't even offer regulation sized lanes. Heck, the latest incarnation of these here in my town don't even use bowling shoes.
It was the coolest thing ever. I wish they would have just left it there.Well they had it... during electronica
I don't bowl or see movies while I'm that close to a Disney park. I can bowl and see movies at home.
Do people really want to go through security to go bowling?

In the video I posted the founder factors in cast members as part of the equation for predicted high traffic at WDW. I would assume the same would apply in Anaheim.
There must be staff working in the parks, hotels, and in various support and management positions backstage making livable wages.
Yes... because Disney's barely paid above minimum wage is the perfect demographic for..
$14 nachos.. $8 french fries.. $14 sliders.. $23 dollar chicken parm.. $11 cocktails... $6-$10 beers.. etc
I think @71jason would say the cast may frequent the bar some? But its tough to say you count on the cast when you price them out.
I bet cast members get discounts on food.
I live in Corona, we have bowling alleys, but I would easily head down to DTD to bowl and have a few drinks...and then head over to Sam's.I'm the same way. I can bowl in Los Angeles. I'm only in Anaheim for Disney and maybe an Angels game, but that's it.
I can definitely see the appeal.I live in Corona, we have bowling alleys, but I would easily head down to DTD to bowl and have a few drinks...and then head over to Sam's.
Splitsville is not what you're used to in a bowling alley. It's not a big building with lanes side by side from wall to wall. There are cool little pockets of lanes around the place. And yes, food is good.
