Splitsville price changes

Long waits for a successful product that people are willing to pay cash-money for. So of course the price is going to go up. That's called free market capitalism, or American Free Enterprise, and it works.

Splitsville too expensive for you? That's cool, you don't have to go. And luckily there are cheaper things to do in Orlando, so no one will die of boredom.

When I went bowling at Splitsville last month at DTD, my wife and I got in 6 games in the alotted time of an hour and a half. I thought it was a heck of a bargain even though my back hurt the rest of vacation!
It doesn't surprise me they are changing it to an hour now. Our wait time wasn't bad, got there at 10:30p and was bowling 10 minutes later. When we left, there had been quite a wait from what I overheard which was around midnight.

2 games an hour would be unacceptable to these guys!

If your even the slightly a serious bowler you will not be impressed. This is a bar atmosphere with a touch of bowling, meaning the lanes aren't regulation and they are more attracting the night time crowd and not really families unless you go before 2 in the afternoon

To go slightly off-topic, my wife and I went to see "Lincoln" a couple weeks ago at the DTD theater and I was quite taken aback when the automated ticket machine only charged me $6 a ticket. I can't remember the last time we seen a movie that cheaply, even a matinee.

And the Splitsville pricing doesn't seem that bad to me. It's slightly better than my local mall alley.

Jeez, how many games of bowling can you americans play in a row? Me and my family do 2 at most. And we don't eat when we play, don't you guys find it gross after you put your fingers in a ball 100+ people have used?

How have crowds been so far in terms of bowlers? One way I could think as to why they made this change is because not enough people are bowling, so to offset the shortage of people not bowling, they just decided to make this price change of $1 per 4 minutes of bowling rather than the former $1 per 6 minutes which yeah does sound like a rip off if you're bowling with a large group.
Usually the lack of demand will lower prices.

Usually the lack of demand will lower prices.

The lack of quantity demanded will lower prices, but as for demand as a whole the factors of demand change (price, income, taste, price of substitue/complimentary good(s),expectations, and number of buyers in the market) it will remain constant cause to get rid of a shortage you increase the price to offset the high quantity demand vs. when you have a surplus that's when you mark down your prices to increase the quantity demanded. Inverse relationship here between price and quantity demanded so if price was increased then quantity demanded would decrease. So in this case the demand and supply side are on the right side of the curve here for Splitsville it would make sense for them to jack up prices. In some cases yes the lack of demand can markdown prices on the company's product. Microeconomics has too many theories that don't correlate with one another. In all seriousness, if the lack of demand would lower prices, you would be in danger of reaching a price ceiling which isn't a good thing to run on.

True, but we must not forget that it's the Federal Reserve that controls the size of the reserve base of the banking system.

It hasn't even been open that long and there is already a change to the pricing for bowling. It used to be $15 per person for 90 minutes. It is now $15 per person for 60 minutes. If you're bowling solo you could still get your money's worth but with groups of 3 or more it just seems like a total rip off to me. Many non-serious recreational bowlers will probably be lucky to finish 2+ games in that time with a group.

We finished FOUR games in an hour yesterday - we dont mess around.

Unrelated, my arm is falling off today.

Kings Bowl Orlando to redefine bowling alley fare

First is was Downtown Disney’s Splitsville, now Kings Bowl Orlando, which is scheduled to open in April at 8255 S. International Drive, is tossing the concept of bowling food in the gutter. Kings’ full service restaurant feature modern twists on classic bar fare, such as cheeseburger spring rolls, fried mac & cheese bites and homemade buffalo chicken wontons. Entrees will include steak tips and house-smoked baby back ribs and steak tips. The alley ice cream shop will offer creative sundaes and delicious homemade desserts. The 30,000-square-foot dining, bowling and entertainment venue will feature 22 lanes, billiards, shuffleboard and 60 big screen TVs. Kings Bowl is a Boston-based that pioneered the “boutique bowling” revolution in 2003. KINGS Orlando will be differentiated by transforming into an adults-only experience after dark. By day, families with children can bowl and savor homemade ice cream and other treats. At 6 p.m, general public admission moves to adults only, ages 21 and above. Andre Bautista is the executive chef. Kings Bowl of America has locations in Boston; Dedham, Mass.; and Rosemont, Ill. Expansion plans include future locations in Burlington and Lynnfield, Mass. Details are available at KingsBowlAmerica.com or Facebook.

Wow that's expensive. 300 here on long island is $8 per person per hour. 300 is similar to splitsville. Music videos at the end of the lanes. black lights. food and drinks at the lanes while you bowl. Awesome bar in the middle private lanes $9 an hour with own waiter and control of what plays at the end of the lanes.

I guess they think in downtown Disney deserves a $8 surcharge.
