Split Stays & Dining Plans

Hey all...
Currently my next trip is not a split-stay, but we're considering making our current 8-night stay (where we start heading home mid afternoon on our checkout day) to a 6-3 stay, stretching our points by moving to VAK (and leaving very very early on our checkout day).

Now I know that dining plans are based on the amount of nights you have during your stay, but the meal credits are valid until everything closes on your check out day. So if you happened to have 2 table service and 2 counter service credits per person left on your checkout day, you can do a character breakfast, a counter service lunch, a sit-down dinner and even a "fourthmeal" at Disney Springs before heading back to the airport or the drive home or the auto train or the greyhound, etc. I mean, I probably wouldn't want to be the poor SOB sitting next to you once you pack all that into your own personal poop factory, but it is a free country and they are your credits, you could do that if you want.

I ALSO know that with a split stay, any left over credits will not carry over after the first leg of your stay is officially over. If you leave Resort A and check into Resort B on a Sunday, your meal credits are still valid throughout Sunday, but leftover credits after that will not be valid Monday...

But in this scenario, if you get a different dining plan for Resort B, will the Magic Bands and internal system recognize you still have meal credits throughout Sunday, and make sure they don't deduct Resort B's dining plan credits until either 1: you finish using Resort A credits some time before Sunday ends so you must use your Resort B credits, or 2: Sunday ends so even if you do have Resort A credits, they disappear and then starting Monday you only have Resort B credits?

EDIT: Incorrect information.

Yes I just did a split stay. Although I didn't end up purchasing the DDP for the second half (and regret that now) ... My TA explained to me that's exactly what would happen. Midnight the day of checkout @ resort 1 the first credits will expire and the new credits should show.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
I believe this is incorrect and is what's causing your confusion. Normally you'd be correct. You'd keep your pool of Resort A credits through the entire day of Sunday, even after you've checked OUT of Resort A. However, I believe checking IN to Resort B has the same effect of ending the Resort A credit pool, even though Sunday isn't over. Once you check in to Resort B, everything from Resort A expires as if the day has ended.

I think.

No not correct we have done many spilt stays and your credits are good from Stay A even after checking into Stay B until the end of the day at 11:59pm. We always usually had credits left on switch day and used them all day on switch day. Also the other dining credits are available that day too from Stay B after checkin as well but the system will use stay A credits before it uses Stay B credits if you have some left on switch day even after check in for Stay B. We have been in this situation on the last few trips. YOU WILL NOT LOSE ANY CREDITS JUST BECAUSE YOU CHECKED INTO STAY B UNTIL THE NORMAL 11:59pm cutoff on your switch day. Just make sure you keep track what you had left on switch day and make sure it's done correctly and of any discrepancies talk to the front desk and they will help you. I didn't have to do that because mine were always correctly used but I made sure to check my credits and receipts just in case. :)

Thanks for the clarification. I'll delete my post to avoid future confusion.
