Hey all...
Currently my next trip is not a split-stay, but we're considering making our current 8-night stay (where we start heading home mid afternoon on our checkout day) to a 6-3 stay, stretching our points by moving to VAK (and leaving very very early on our checkout day).
Now I know that dining plans are based on the amount of nights you have during your stay, but the meal credits are valid until everything closes on your check out day. So if you happened to have 2 table service and 2 counter service credits per person left on your checkout day, you can do a character breakfast, a counter service lunch, a sit-down dinner and even a "fourthmeal" at Disney Springs before heading back to the airport or the drive home or the auto train or the greyhound, etc. I mean, I probably wouldn't want to be the poor SOB sitting next to you once you pack all that into your own personal poop factory, but it is a free country and they are your credits, you could do that if you want.
I ALSO know that with a split stay, any left over credits will not carry over after the first leg of your stay is officially over. If you leave Resort A and check into Resort B on a Sunday, your meal credits are still valid throughout Sunday, but leftover credits after that will not be valid Monday...
But in this scenario, if you get a different dining plan for Resort B, will the Magic Bands and internal system recognize you still have meal credits throughout Sunday, and make sure they don't deduct Resort B's dining plan credits until either 1: you finish using Resort A credits some time before Sunday ends so you must use your Resort B credits, or 2: Sunday ends so even if you do have Resort A credits, they disappear and then starting Monday you only have Resort B credits?
