Splash Mountain Trashed Boats

Splash Mountain is probably my favorite attraction at Walt Disney World, but the one thing that always annoys me is concerning the boats. Is it me, or do many riders always leave trash inside the boats? I've seen wrappers, food and spilt drinks inside of them often.

The worst experience was one time I found a slice of cold toast wrapped in foil, a half-eaten apple with no skin, and an orange peel. I can't blame Disney because the problem is the careless guests, but I do wish they would make sure each boat is clean. I don't mind the occasional receipt, but old fruit? Does anyone else have a story about their interesting finds in the Splash Mountain logs?

Just mold....

But, sadly, there's no opportunity from unload to load to check it... unless you slow it all down. It's basically a magical moment to find a half eaten apple.

I guess the only solution for people that do not like other peoples behavior is do not go to Walt Disney World. Then there will be nothing to annoy you.

Great solution for people with bad behavior and no consideration for others. Good people don't go -----leave the park to the slobs and rename the park the Magical Kingdom of Bad Behavior

The toast made me laugh! I've only seen soda bottles, various food bags and receipts left behind. It would slow down loading if they had to clean each boat afterwards I would guess. I try to ignore it and enjoy the ride. If it's something like half eaten food,I would tell a cast memeber as I exit and hope they do something. If it's something like a bottle I just trash it for them then sanitize my hands lol. No, it's not my job to do it but I hope it makes a difference for the next family.

The slobs have no problem..... it is the whiners that have a problem.

It is not only this type of thing,
  1. Yes throwing garbage is rude, and if you do this you should be ashamed..... but it is only the whiners that have issues
  2. Yes using a cell phone in a dark ride is rude, it would not hurt you to think of how this behavior ruins the show..... whiners issue only
  3. Yes talking during a ride is rude, think about the people around you would it hurt to wait until the ride is over..... whiners issue only
  4. Yes taking pictures in dark ride is rude, you are blinding everybody with you, the pictures will look terrible... whiners issue only
  5. Yes large groups of loud foreigners are rude, why are you being disruptive respect other tourists.... however whiners issue only
  6. Yes 2 hour plus line up is annoying, however the people in the line do not seem to mind and cope.... whiner issue only
  7. Yes going to the park sick and spreading your illness is rude, I came back from WDW 4 times catching a cold "however this is expected" and is a whiners issue only
  8. Yes Disney keeps hiking prices, they want to maximize profits and they are not stupid.... the know whiners we keep coming back

People are not good or bad, they are just people, it is a mater of perspective.

Me personally I will not be going back to the Magic? Kingdom for many years, I do not find it that Magical anymore.

This is one of those changing times moments. Walt wanted no trash ever seen. Disney used to be great about keeping up this appearance. But disney didnt change. Nope people changed. In walts day suits on airplanes today sweats. A suit to a steak house (or anything above a diner) today shorts. People picked up after themselves today someone else will pick it up im too lazy and entitled. This is the way people have become and the poor cast members dont have enough time to clean well enough between unload reload.

So if I come to your house and throw garbage all over your property it is not me who has the problem only you if you complain about it
If I sit next to you in a movie and talk through the whole movie and disturb you it is not my problem it is you if you complain
ETC Interesting prespective on rude behavior. I wonder how many on this forum share your view? People are judged by societies norms of behavior there are good and bad people

People didn't bring kids too small to walk around all day (imagine that?)
Or, if they did, they took them back to the hotel for a nap.
With the proliferation of non-monorail or boat friendly resorts, a trip back to the hotel for a nap in travel time alone from decision to leave to bed/nap kills 2 hours. Per hour, that's an expensive nap, thus these huge little tykes size strollers and associated parking lots.

I believe the original post was pure sarcasm.

I'm afraid I've found many things inside Splash Mountain logs, but never anything interesting or story-worthy ("yet here you are"). Last time I rode Splash Mountain, I found a nearly-full bottle of Nestle Quik chocolate milk, probably inadvertently left behind by a kid who was very disappointed when they realized it had been lost. I removed it from the vehicle when I got out and threw it in the nearest trash receptacle (which was no more than 6 feet away). It was still cold, so it must not have lain there long -- not that the CMs have adequate time to grab people's trash in between unloading and loading, anyway.

I agree with the previous posters who say that although the situation has gotten worse over the years, Disney doesn't have a "CMs not picking up after people" problem -- we as a society have a littering/disrespect problem.
