Know the feeling. Me and my parents were waiting to get the first ride on Mission Space. Everyone was! The CMs were handing out 'no stampeding' cards. This is true! In June 2002 we were frist in line for tower of terror and they gave us a coupon for a free photo. So we got our tower of terror photo free. There were just 4 of us so we desided to get it and just scan it when we get home so ever one could have a copy.
They sell lots of these photos every day. I think giving away a photo for each ride isn't that big of a deal. They are a billion dollar company.

Another Hint
I am not sure about being first in line and getting "freebies", but I do know that if you are the first person, or family, to rent a boat at one of the Lakeside hotels (Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, or Contemporary) then you become the "Captain's Family of the Day" and get your boat rental for free.
This I do know, my husband and I did it twice.
