If you are the first person in line when Splash Mountain opens, you and your party get a log to yourself and you get a free picture afterwards.

It's proven because I just did it by myself last Friday and with my whole family in March
It must be standard because they had the picture waiting each time

I personally don't see them giving away free pictures.
This happened to us in 2000 on ToT, got to ride Tower of Terror by ourselves but the camera wasn't loaded proberly so no picture... :(

Buuuutttt, we came back later that day and rode a regular ToT with other people and the CM who had escorted us earlier in the day spotted us and gave us our ToT photo free, with a free ToT frame.

It was one of the good, pottery type frames as well, not a cheapy plastic one.

Last year was our year for free pictures.

We got one at Test Track because the CM was cracking up at us having to take my 4 year old back on it over and over.

We got one at Splash Mountain for no reason.

We were chosen as FAMILY OF THE DAY in MGM. We signed the Autograph Book, got a special certificate, and got 2 - 8x10s of us in front of the hat.

We also got a handful of fast passes from the CM at Peter Pan. They weren't really fast passes, but a good anytime ticket to use whenever.

I'm hoping to get a really, really good pic this year I can use for photo Christmas cards. If it were free, even better!

I agree - nothing is "free" at Disney. The only time I would think they give away photos is when the Cast Member is being friendly on their own, the camera or machines are messing up, or by freak coincidence.

If the bean-counters heard that it was a "policy" they'd freak!

I wish people would not ASSUME things just because it happened to them once. Verify your statement before you post, please.

LOL thanks for the opinion reguarding mine. After many posts above. I don't need anymore verification. Considering my family got another night free of the MVMCP. I'm a true beliver SOME things are free :)

There's one manager in all of the parks in charge of those pictures? I find that hard to believe! The person in charge of that would likely be a different person at each attraction, or area of the park.

when i rode Splash Mountain in May of 2003, these two guys pushed ahead of us to be the first ones on the ride one morning-- they got free pictures :(

I can confirm this IS true! I worked at Splash Photo for awhile when I was in merchandise. The people in the first log of the day get their photo free, as do a few others. This was back in '02... so they gave away picture numbers 1002, 2002, 3002, etc. free. A Cast Member was supposed to pick out those guests at preview, and let them know they get the free photo. Now, this WAS two years ago, so I can't tell you whether or noot they still do it.
