This thread has immediately gone in the best possible way while the East coasters sleep snugly in their beds. Sometime I just want you all to go and trash a News and Rumours thread for pure hilarity.

Is it pretty serious in those threads?

Battle Escape should knock Indiana Jones Adventure off my list. It'll only do that if the screens on the ride are merely backgrounds and do not feature actors. If it has video of Daisy Ridley or Adam Driver and tries to play it as if they're physically there then it's an instant F. I don't think Daisy Ridley or Adam Driver are literally in my movie theater with me when I see The Last Jedi, why would I think they're there when I'm on a ride?
.

Agree. I think Star Tours is the only example of characters on screen engaging directly with us that kind of works. First because it was the original attraction to do this so it’s grandfathered In. GOTG/ Gringotts is like a pop singer trying to debut to the world in his 30s/40s. It’s not happening. Star Tours 2.0 is like the boy band getting together again for a world tour when they re older. We accept it because they already made their mark and made us fans in their youth. Anyway, weird example aside, Star Tours also works because it frames the screen as if it’s the Star speeder windshield. It works. In GOTG we really literally staring at tv screen. There is nothing about the way it’s set up that makes me feel like the Guardians are in front of me.

Anyway still prefer Star Tours 1.0 to 2.0

My garbage posts over there usually get like 1 or 2 likes but here they'll get up to 10 sometimes so I'd say yeah

Should also be noted that what really helps Star Tours work is everything on the inside of the Starspeeder is real and everything on the outside is on a screen. It separates them. When you have an AA interacting with a screen, it meshes the two together causing it to just not work.

Believe it or not, I actually got the most likes in a single post when I posted over there. I guess I was a breath of fresh air in those stuffy threads.

Idk. I hate the Marni worship & some of the posters are a bit "much."

Yes great point.

Shanghai's Pirates is even too much for me. Give me two limited in movement AAs sword-fighting over a large spectacle where they're jumping around. It just looks dumb. Honestly, even the giant squids and sea floor projections on that ride look terrible but that has mostly to do with the CGI just being bad. I know the CGI on Star Tours is really bad but I'm hoping they pour a lot more money into the SFX for the movie parts of Battle Escape.

Not a fan of the Sword fighting CGI scene but I think all the background screens look great. Basically I think they should always be a background/ atmosphere thing and not the focal point in the finale, especially when it involves humans/ humanoids.

Ya, usually it's just @TP2000 stirring up the hornet's nest solo with his ride counts or size comparisons. :hilarious:

I do enjoy that there now exists multiple very discrete sub groups on this board. I don't even recognize half the posters if I ever wander into WDW general chit chat.

Idk. I hate the Marni worship & some of the posters are a bit "much."

I agree, the only thing worth worshiping is hot dog days. Less that two weeks until its glorious return.

Also you really would have hated the Spirit worship if you were around for that.

Some of the garbage posts over here are pure gold. Some of them I'll never forget. I still chuckle thinking about a post you made one time responding to someone saying something like, "why can't Bob Chapek see that...." and you replied saying something like, "how can he when he can't see?" And then you posted a picture of Bob looking like a blind gopher. I mean, people pay money for that kind of comedy.

I'll still always prefer murals tbh

Yeah that side of the site has way more activity so it makes sense but usually the comments with 30+ likes are actual jokes and not just saying they need to bring back Superstar Limo.

I'm still a virgin about hot dog days. Do I even want to ask?

Bruh, can you believe that my comment was banned on Theme Park Insider Discussion Forum back in the day for making a compelling case why Pirates of the Carribean @ DL was better than Shanghai Pirates?

I remember I was because my post took real thought, sweat & heart, yet it never saw the light of day.

Disneyland Resort spokeswoman Suzi Brown announced today that the popular unofficial "Hot Dog Season" will get recognition from the parks in the form of a special event making its debut April 17, DISNEY HOT DOG DAYS.

Sharp eyed Annual Passholders have often noted that Hot Dog Season follows the popular Food & Wine Festival and precedes the big summer season. While napkin dispensers resort-wide are sent to a central location for restocking, the parks shift to a hot dog-only menu. All restaurants serve nothing but hot dogs until the napkins come back and regular food items can be served.

This year Disney will take advantage of the lull to introduce a series of Disney character themed hot dogs, including a Gaston-inspired hot dog to celebrate Disney's blockbuster live-action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Red Rose Taverne in Fantasyland will serve the "No One's Wiener's Incredibly Thick As Gaston's" entree for $12.99 each.

Also in Fantasyland, guests will be able to wrap their lips around "Prince Phillip's Sword" at Troubadour Treats. At the Stage Door Cafe in Frontierland, a western themed hot dog is striking gold, "Davy Crockett's Ramrod." In Mickey's Toontown, Daisy's Diner serves up a cartoony curved hot dog, "Goofy's Wacky Wiener." It's so weird, you'll want to show it to a doctor!

Over in Disney California Adventure, Super Heroes get their due with a collection of hot dogs that pay tribute to our favorite Avengers. The "Eat Me, Turd Blossom" hot dog plays off the lovable humor of Star Lord, while the "Perfect American Super Wiener" gives you a mouthful of patriotic wholesomeness courtesy of Captain America.

For dessert, don't forget to try the new "Pixie Dust Explosion" dog, only available at Plaza Inn. This sugar-dusted hot dog has a creamy vanilla filling sure to delight your tastebuds as it bursts with every bite!

This was also the 10th anniversary of forum posters who legitimately liked hot dogs wayyyy too much. Or just enough?

I really appreciate that I'm still able to comment on threads from over 10 years ago instead of having them just automatically lock after a little while. Something that's just nice about this forum site over others.

I want to ride Alice with a group of friends, an open bottle of champagne, and empty glasses. Now that would be fun.

Actually, that would be fun in Lincoln too.
Let’s plan it out. We re friends right?
Who cares about the quality of sparkling wine when we’re in Wonderland? Afterward we can check the status of the missing Dumbo hedge and whine about Pixar Pier over Dole whips. :D
Lol. Great point. Will these be spiked dole whips?

Ok, so you'll need to find a way to sneak it into the parks, but I like this idea. Champagne on Alice at Noon for brunch, followed by spiked Dole Whips at Tiki...

As long as the lobby keeps the same vibe, I probably wouldn’t even know about the swap. Wait, the marquee. There’s always the marquee.

Of course the lobby would keep the same vibe, its only the show that would change. As for the marquee, "Great Moments with Great American Presidents". You'd have to choose which presidents, but that wouldn't be too hard. You'd have say the top 5 that made significant contributions to the country, say Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Kennedy.
