I was at Disney on Saturday the 14th and noticed this new, rather purple new sign sitting out in front of the entrance.

I like the IDEA...but (yes, there's no pleasing some people) I think the "PURPLE" color takes away from the theming of "FRONTIERLAND"

It sure does, but the old themed signs didn't help at all. They were too small and kinda hidden away behind the leaves.
In fact, I do think this new one won't help matters much... I bet JUST TODAY someone was asking what time was the 3 PM parade. Some Guests are just airheads...

But seriously, this one will help a bit, that area down there can get pretty confusing, especially on busy days.

I like to think I know Magic Kingdom pretty well, but I had trouble finding the Fast Pass booths last trip. At least for those in the know these signs will help, and I hope this is not the only thing they will do to improve the area.

I remember FrontierlandCM saying that the area was going under rehab. Maybe they'll re-route it somehow?

I think it is interesting that there are so many people under the sign wearing purple....or maybe it's just my monitor?

Yeah, i saw it Sunday, and took a picture of it..... but not because it was new, only because i had never seen "Stand By Line: 5 Minutes"....... mind u, i froze nearly to death on the ride, but it was worth it, as usual.......

I did mention that Splash Mountain was getting new signs about a month ago, it was posted on this web site and has its own thread, im sure if you search for it, you will find it.

About the Purple.... the builders did not inteand for it to be purple, BUT the whole point of the project was to make that area less confussing. So purple was picked as a color that stands out YET does not look to out of place in Frontierland. Even though it is in Frontierland, Splash Mountain themeing is bright and colorful, so i dont think that purple is that bad of a choice. BTW, they told us that the color will fade in the hot FLA sun over time.

That would completly defeat the purpose of the project, if it were brown, it would be harder to to see then the curent white ones are.

On the topic of Frontierland ''theming".....

In the grand scale of things, why is an early 1900's, set in the Georgia foothills, attraction doing in fronteirland anyway?

The theme starts in Liberty Square.....colonal USA, east of the Mississippi, then you cross the "little Mississippi" and enter Fronteir USA set in the early 1800's, west of the Mississippi, and end in the gold rush of the mid 1800's.....then right in the middle, the 1900's and "song of the south"???

So who the hell cares that sign of a BRIGHT, HAPPY, FUN, COLORFUL ride is a BRIGHT and COLORFUL one???

What about a dark blue?

Blue is the color of water, so it would have somewhat fit into the splash mountain theme, yet it would have also stuck out like a sore thumb.

Purple?!?!?!
