Are you happy for the change, or prefer the full-on soaking?

I am happy for it. I do not mind getting a little wet but getting soaked to the core when I am not at a water park is very unappealing to me. I avoid Kali for this very reason.

I woudln't mind getting hit by it if it wasn't so massive. I had noticed this change last time I road, though, and was happy for it.

I'll miss it but it's not anything I'm going to get up in arms about. The thing I will miss about it is the randomness of it. It was kinda like playing water cannon roulette. You never knew if it was going to sync up with your log or not so there was a slight adrenaline rush as you went under it wondering if it would go off or not, but oh well. No biggie. I kind of have a mixed reaction. I don't mind whether I end up dry or soaked, so I'm not really upset about the change in that regard. But I know many other people don't like being soaked, which is why on cooler nights, the lines for Splash Mountain are practically nothing. There's nothing like walking on Splash Mountain over and over because other people don't feel like getting wet. If the soak is reduced, then the lines could remain longer at night.

It was a cheap soaking that won't be missed. It just made you miserable for the rest of the ride.

Thank god. I hated that. I'd rather just get wet after the main drop. Getting a bunch of water dumped on you (by chance) at the beginning of the ride, when you still have like 10 more minutes of ride, was really annoying.

Wow a lot of Debbie Downers here. IMO one of the most fun things about Splash Mountain is wondering if you are going to get soaked or stay dry on your particular ride through. Uptight whiners always ruin everything as usual.

I noticed this also when I went. I kinda like it better. The splash was massive and left me very soaked which I agree was a little uncomfortable the whole rest of the ride. If they just has a sprinkle or something but its good now with the change.

Not many people riding the ride know that the bigger soaking would come from just getting to the lift hill at the right time. Most people assume that you are going to get the most wet from the big drop...so I don't think that this will cause much of a difference in wait time on those cooler nights.

I'm definitely one of the people that likes this very much. Splash is my favorite ride, but I often have to avoid it because of that annoying water cannon that either leaves you bone dry or completely soaked. There are some days when I just can't take the chance of getting drenched. :/

Now they just have to get rid of the unpleasant chili dog smell at Stitch.

This is the only ride at the MK I won't ride and it's mostly because of that random element. I don't mind getting splashed a little, I don't like getting soaked.

I know my DD 6 will be happy to hear this news. Hopefully I'll be able to get her back on in August now. We got drenched her first ride by this crazy splash and she was not too happy about it. So I agree with most of the "whiners" above and :sohappy: this news.

Since this is about splash mountain but not about getting wet. Has anyone been on Splash Mountain recently and noticed that the jumping fountains weren't working. We were there in April and they weren't jumping.

In 2008, my fiance (2nd trip, first since she was 5) and I (7th trip) were getting ready to go to MK and she asked me if she'd get soaked. I said "nah, its not that bad" so she straightened her hair and did the whole 9. By 10AM we were on Splash and we got nailed with the water cannon. She was not very happy with me haha.
