doubt buzz needs it.
Well take my word for it, it does. If nothing else the attraction needs a good dusting and painting.

I'm not sure what is causing it, but the far walls in many of the show scenes are peeling. I'm not saying it is on the level of Haunted Mansion, but why should it have to get to that point before they work on it?

Actually, I like UNM, except for the rap song, I don't think rap really has a place in disney.

I have to disagree with you here. I agree that hardcore gangster rap does not belong in Disney, but hip hop is a form of music. It's not like Iago is up there droppin the f-bomb and talkin about his "women."

Sounds like a weird day at MK though.

Thats not what I mean. I'm just saying that it seems very missplaced in the middle of MK, and even more strange, in the Tiki room.

Well I start my training at splash tommorow so if the attraction is not open then it will be a short day. Ill try and gather up some info for all of you.

Day 1 of attractions training has nothing to really do with operating a functional attraction most times - moreso where are the fire extinguishers, emergency exits, if A then B critical situations, and learning 10-codes and signals.

That would be awsome. I hate when your there and all the say is this ride is closed due to tech. difficulties. I don't see why the can't tell you what is wrong. It was running fine from what I could see outside just no people on it. I wish they would just tell you what is wrong for the curious people "Well the thingermobobber is suck in the twillermojigger."

splash is very new comparitively to all MKs attractions

That doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't need a refurb. How many show elements consistently fail to work? The hopping brer rabbit rarely works (unless something's changed recently), I don't even remember the last time I saw the shadow of brer rabbit being chased, and those little rabbits sweeping often don't talk (again, unless something's recently changed), etc... (I could probably go on). None of these are vital to the ride, but they are show elements that really should be working. I do agree that some of the older attractions, namely HM and POTC, are in worse shape but splash still could definitely use some tlc. I'd hate to see my favorite ride and former home away from home deteriorate to the point that some attractions have before getting fixed.

But they've got a system!

Show elements are labeled according to importance and if a critical one goes, they bring 'er down and fix it.

However, the spreadsheet fails to account for the possibility of several minor show elements breaking, thus letting their powers combine to call on Captain Planet! I mean - to create bad show.

But, they have a system.

Hey all,

Splash was down all day yeasterday and most of the day today, reopened about 6:30ish just in time for EMH, thank god!!! Pirates was down for about 3 hrs yesterday and space for about 2. Nothing serious about those two just some glitches that needed to be worked out!!! Splash is up and running and all tech stuff worked out, so if you head there tomorrow be prepared to get wet!!! That's straight from City Hall yo!!

Steve
Thanks, Steve!

I appreciate the straight-shooting update!

(aside from the huge thread drift...)

I went on Splash last Sunday and was shocked to see everything working! This even included Brer Fox's Shadow talking to Brer Rabbit on the lift hill.

For attractions that are open 365 days a year, I think Disney does a great job in keeping things up and running! Remember, Disney and the other Orlando parks do not close like those of Six Flags and other parks. While they're doing refurbs in the winter, Disney and the rest of Orlando are packing them in!

Yes, we all will like to see something done with specific rides of our choice but we're not the boss, we have only hopes and dreams of seeing Spash working at 100% all the time, Buzz getting a paint job, and other attractions getting the attention they need!

I think Disney knows this. They just reopened IASM a few months ago from a lengthy rehab and I'm sure the have plans to rehab other attractions in the future. Remember, money doesn't grow on trees for us, and not for the mouse. We all seem to think Mickey can cut a check for whatever he wants. He can cut a bigger check for something than I can ever write, but we all know economics and that just means we have to wait until it's our favorite attraction's turn for a fix up... Then we can all start to complain about it being closed for a few months.

Ok the scoop is in. There was Hydraulic Fluid leak and 110 Gallons of Hydraulic Fluid came into the stream and was flowing all throughout the ride. When they tried to bring the ride back up logs were slipping at the top of a lift and they cant open a ride if that happens. Thats what I heard from my managers so..... thats what I have.

Well that would be a problem.
