Spirit of Aloha question!

All right, so I'm all booked for the luau on the 15th. I'm going to WDW with my best friend, and we've never been to the luau before and, well, we're 22 and it's unlimited beer and wine.

BUT, I booked the trip online, so I was unable to inform the Internet that I was going to be using the DDP on this reservation, and they charged my credit card. I called someone at Disney Dining today, and she told me I could not be issued a refund until I pick up my tickets on December 15th. This, well, just didn't seem right to me, as I have had to make similar corrections to other two-credit, pre-pay dining experiences in the past. Was this cast member correct, or should I call and try someone else? It's not necessarily a big deal... I just want that $100 charge off my credit card!

We just had the same problem. I had booked the Spirit of Aloha and breakfast at Cinderella's Castle online and my husband informed me that BOTH were billed to my card - and we are on the dining plan.

So I called Disney to change it. The first time I called, the lady told me that it wasn't actually billed - my money was held but it wouldn't be billed unless we didn't go. I hung up - told my husband (a banker) what I was informed and he said that credit cards don't work that way - that if the withdraw is shown, the money is accruing interest from the credit card (I don't follow - but this is what he explained). So I called back and this time talked to a much more helpful CM who informed me that she would need to cancel my reservation and give me the exact same reservation (different conf#) for the exact same time and would mark that I am on the dining plan. Worked like a charm and now it is off of my credit card and yet, I still have the reservation.

Good luck.
