I was glad I got to experience this a few times. I haven't really been back to MK since Spectro and Wishes ended.

Beautiful music and the lights and floats were spectacular. I am glad I got to see it as a kid.

I also love the music, lights of the MSEP. Both Spectro and MSEP were both magical to say the least and I am glad I got to see them both as a kid. It would be great if Disney could come up with something even more spectacular in the future.
But... I thought “storytelling” was only a recent discovery by WDI? Their social media posts mention their current prowess with it all the time.

I laugh, but I also completely understand. The Spectromen were scary.

They were the only elements that compromised my enjoyment. Sadly, they were everywhere!

Around late 2007 or 2008, the Spectromen were changed from masked characters (who's faces changed between purple, red, and a mix of both. Previously only their faces glowed white) but gained a costume update in late 2009 which made their faces more visible.

Nope, while I respect the parade for playing an important role with Disney's history of nighttime entertainment. WDW deserves a brand new parade that's made and found only at the WDW Resort.

"The SpectroMen are keepers of light. They hold the parades magical light and transform it for you in the midst of the night. They come from a land called LightSpriation where everything is filled with rays of light and magical bursts of color. They were always afraid to come out of hiding and share their magical light, until one day, Mickey, the SpectroMen King, asked if they would join him in a nighttime festival of magic and light, and come and bring the magical light for everyone to see. Scared to confront people, they hesitated. After much consideration, the SpectroMen agreed. They brought along their magical SpectroBalls and Light-Trumpets to spread the joy of their magical light to everyone. Mickey controls the light they magically create and powers the parade through his Electro-ball, changing it from night to day, or crystal to multi-color."
This information was unearthed on April 2, 2008 from "The Site That Shall Not Be Named"

I agree with this 100%. This everything seemingly leaning towards remakes and redoing things like especially within the movie entertainment business, it is time for Disney and the Imagineers to step up with some new and original for the next Night Time Spectacular at WDW.

I feel like one of the few people who really liked the Spectromen. Sure they were creepy, but at least they were very entertaining park exclusive characters and helped make the parade stick out more compared to MSEP and PTN. At least Disney took notice and decided to redesign them as face characters and the Spectromen even began smiling more often after their costume update in late 2009.

DEG kept the hippo/gator topper. And supposedly 3 float chassis were salvaged for driver training
I agree. Me too, I liked Spectro a lot and have such good memories of it. But I think its good now to hold on to them memories because the marade would feel really outdated now. So much other great IP came out since that.
