Spectromagic Parade Overhaul

I've always loved Spectromagic since I was little. It's music is wonderful and grand in style and at the same time very nostalgic. But of course as many of us know, this parade has become very, VERY, dated and I hate to see it like that. Not just the floats, but also the quality as in the lights should go from Christmas lights to LED's, I'm talking Dreamlights type lights, and the music should be upgraded to HD. Some newer, better effects. And of course some new movies featured in there.

We'll re-imagine this parade in chronological order. Starting off with the Spectromen, then Mickey Mouse, then the music, etc. Float by float.

So as always, Let The Imagineering Begin!:sohappy:

As a Few Random Ideas to throw out that I've been carrying for a while, My ideas for an overhaul of Spectro would include at least a few of the following.

1. CAN THE SPECTROMEN! I think they are enourmously creepy, and while they're better now, I feel the parade could better be started with some Disney Magic Right away, with The Seven Dwarfs replacing the trumpeters on the very first float, and then brinigng in the Disney Fairies for the following units. The Fairy Godmother taking the top position on the title float, with Tinkerbell, the Blue Fairy, and the rest of Tink's Friend taking the other Spectromen positions.

2. The Three Sleeping Beauty fairy floats tend to get very repetitive, put them all on one float, and include Aurora and Philip dancing together in the street.

3. The Wishing star has always been a big part of Disney, and with their most recent film "The Princess and the Frog" that goes one step further, one of the Fairy Floats would be changed into a float carrying Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen with Ray and his Firefly family, as well as the light of Evangeline lighting the way.

4. The Other fairy float would become a wonderland themed float, taking you into the Golden Afternoon theme, with the singing flowers providing the light here, with Alice, The Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee, and Tweedle Dum riding along. Cards with Light up Hearts would flank the float as well.

5. Besides these new additions, the whole parade does indeed need general lighting updates (Going LED), Sound updates, including new score for the Wonderland, PATF, and other floats.

6. Much in the way that celebrate (v2) added tons of characters to the streets, that would be a goal in this version of Spectro as well, pulling characters like Louis and Dr. Facillier for PATF, the Finding Nemo Fish in the Little Mermaid Unit, and various unincluded Disney Friends around the finale.

Anyway, let me know what you think and maybe we can come up with some other ideas.

While those ideas are great, why must everything be cartoonified? That's one thing that has been lost in the parks, lack of original attractions. Last big one I remember us getting is Everest. I love the Spectromen, they add some backstory to the parade.

The rest I really like. Great ideas!

@Disneyson1, genius! I mean we can have Disney friends, but the Spectromen are very personally dear to my heart for some reason. Maybe because they bring back nice memories.

EDIT: Woah, Disneyson1 I think your ideas are great. I think we'll use some of that here as well.

It's not that I think everything should be "cartoonified" as you said, just that I think the spectromen are creepy, so why not start off the parade with some characters whom the guests already think of as magical?

Thanks! I did them a while back, but I still can't think of a GREAT finale float with all the characters. I know I want Tink in it and the Fab 5 (6?). The very last floats that change colors would go completely black in between changes now, and the "shimmer effect" from all the rest of the floats would cover the floats. The effect would be this whole line of shimmering LEDs and a giant POW of light when they turn back on.

-Put all 3 fairies on one float
-Have a pink, blue, pink, blue fight with the colors... then settle with green for Fauna
-use other 2 floats for Facilier and Mama Odie respectively
-Facilier would promote darkness, Odie would promote the light
-Use a revolving wall to change Tiana and Naveen into frog/human
-create a new float for Wall-E and his lighting job
-KEEP the same style of music!!
-Use fiber optics on areas with no lights- especially on walking characters so we can actually see who they are
