As a special “thank you,” the Disneyland Resort is inviting members of our Annual Passholder family to experience an exclusive evening of fun and magic in Disneyland park. Join us Wednesday, Oct. 12, or Monday, Oct. 17, from 8 p.m. until midnight for a special, private performance of Mickey’s Soundsational Parade featuring:
An up-close look at the parade floats.
Meet-and-greet photo opportunities with some favorite Disney Characters.
The chance to enjoy select attractions, stores and restaurants in Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Main Street, U.S.A.

If I lived closer and was an AP I'd want to go! Mainly to get a closer look at the Soundsational floats.

We happen to be taking a trip there next week, overlapping with this event. I registered right away, hoping we get lucky.

I wonder when they'll start letting people know who got in... :lookaroun

Weren't these the parties that Al Lutz claimed would only see select APers invited to?

Seems like he got his wires crossed and these are more social media experiments than anyway of gauging why folks buy APs and don't use them, which was what he suggested.

Al Lutz has posted this up tonight, pardon me if you already saw it as I don't know how long it's been up on the Miceage front page...

EDITOR'S NOTE 10/6: Next Wednesday is the first after-hours AP party we'd told you about. Because only a few thousand of the targeted AP's responded to fill the 5,000 spaces available each night, they've now padded the guest list with a few thousand extra AP invitations distributed via Disney's corporate blog. Also on Wednesday an executive group from Ghiradelli arrives to be wined and dined in DCA. If you see their tour in Pacific Wharf that afternoon, feel free to tell them you're looking forward to their upcoming DCA presence. - Al Lutz

So, that would seem to be the answer there. They sent out a bunch of invites to AP's who never really used their AP's, and not many of them responded. (Which makes sense, because perhaps they just don't care about Disneyland and got the AP as a gift, or they moved away, or a life change happened that prevents them from getting there, etc., etc.) So now they are backfilling the event with the rabid form of AP's who troll the Disney Parks Blog daily.

It should be an interesting mix of people there for these things!
