I find that very hard to believe - you've only got to take a look at the lines for BTMR or SM and it becomes doubtful

Don't forget that SSE is a continually loading attraction, not like the coasters that need to stop and load. Thus, the hourly rate is potentially much greater, meaning that line length does not necessarily dictate how many people actually ride. The quote would probably be more accurate if it said MOST RIDDEN instead of MOST POPULAR as well, although in this case they may be synonymous

You have to remember, though that Spaceship Earth is a continuously loading omnimover. Therefore, the lines are not going to back up the way that SM or BTMR do. Also, consider this... Spaceship earth is the only WDW Theme Park Attraction that guests have to walk directly underneath and right by the entrance just to get into the park. (With the exception of the International Gateway, of course.) Therefore, many guests are going to say, "We may as well ride it now, we're here." Also, people can see that the SSE line always moves quickly, unless there's a technical problem.

Edit: I didn't see your post above mine, gcurling. Sorry! I wasn't trying to repeat exactly what you just said. Great minds think alike I guess!

Actually it is true. The lines have nothing to do with it. A ride like SSE can run with nearly every vehicle full and never have a line. A line does not need to be present for the ride to be running at capacity. More people ride SSE every year than any other ride in WDW. However this like i said has nothing to do with the attractions popularity but rather its very high capacity.

Indeed, the throughput on Spaceship Earth is very high - just under 3,000 guests per hour at maximum. Compare that to another popular attraction at Epcot, Test Track, which has throughput of 1,800 guests per hour.

What this means is that nearly 50 guests per minute can walk up to Spaceship Earth on a constant flow and board without having to wait in line.

If 50 guests per minute walk up to Test Track, each minute the line will grow by 20 people (as the attraction is only able to consume 30 guests per minute). So, let's say that constant flow does approach Test Track for the first hour the park is open. At 10:00am, the line would be 1200 people long and the wait would reach 40 minutes.

That same flow of people would not cause a line to form at Spaceship Earth. Theoretically, of course.

Those are cool facts, ill look at the monk's book when i go in november.
It's really tough to get a good look at it. I look every time, and I must admit that I have yet to see the Hidden Mickey. You'll have to turn around nearly backwards to get a decent look at the monk and book.

Quote: "The original narrator for the journey was journalist Walter Cronkite. He has since been replaced by actor Jeremy Irons, who also does a voice in the Disney film The Lion King."

Wasn't there a narrator before Walter Cronkite when SE first opened?

There was a narrator before Cronkite. In fact, I never got the chance to ride the Cronkite version. My first visit to WDW ('86) was a couple months before it was changed to his narration, and my second visit ('95) was not long after his narration was replaced by Jeremy Irons...
