Spaceship Earth Garage

But there's one true indicator that it's not the apple crew...

looks like wazniac to me...

in that Woz never encased his boards in anything whereas in the scene it's a small screen surrounded by a case. I agree Disney made it to look like the original Mac, but that wasn't done in a garage.

And Jobs and Woz are hardly the only garage computer pioneers - in fact they weren't even first in the Bay Area let alone the world!

And we don't need a tribute to Jobs - he was all marketing and hardly made the world a better place. He made computers easier by stealing the ideas of others and enhancing them (like Gates, but he complained when Gates did it to him). Jobs was a visionary but no saint. Many are in line in front of him such as the Xerox PARC crew and AT&T Labs crew who both did more for the modern PC, and society as a whole, than apple.

Don't forget the figures in the irons version didn't move either. The boy talking the Japanese girl, and the kids in the classroom. I thought it was because they didn't have a spot for full figure AAs, and there in relatively the same spot so..

Ugh. Steve Jobs did not even write computer code. They always said that particular AA was just supposed to be representative of all the early computer programmers of the time. In any logical sense, though, it's definitely Woz. They might as well replace Earth at the top of SE with the Moon or have Biden give Obama's speech in HoP if they changed that to be Jobs specifically.

On a side note, the monitor hasn't been working for the last month or so, it used to have a command prompt type interface showing but is completely blank at the moment.

I always feel this scene is a wasted opportunity to do a real great AA. Obviously the money started running as they progressed through the ride refurb.

Sadly indeed...

Each refurb of SSE post 86 has ended up having less AAs than the previous...

If only he could just tap the keys or something. Or honestly, it could be a gag where the guy is simply sleeping and they add a snore effect. Connecting the monk of the past to the engineer of the present.

Funny thing about that first flash photo of the garage scene is that CBS used (and aired) that exact photo in their video montage tribute when Steve Jobs died. I think it's funny that not only is that NOT Steve Jobs, it's not even a living thing.

In other news, the computer monitor was finally changed out with a different screen and the command prompt like interface is back.

The new screen is larger than the old one without the giant case around it. I actually like the new one better. :sohappy:
