Spaceship Earth Closing For Rehab

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
. So please, does someone have an adult answer to this question?
Perhaps an administrator can chime in and stop this ongoing and excellerated problem. It's been my experience these threads just keep going off topic while others are closed for the wrong reasons.
An approperate response will be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps you should become an admin, its not easy you know? Or if that fails start your own strictly policed site where posts are limited to factual information only?

But well done for fighting to uphold standards. :sohappy: Im surprised this site is still succesful with all the nonsense some people post.

If you only expect people to discuss EXACTLY what they should and NEVER have a little fun and get off topic, perhaps there is a Facist board somewhere you could join....until then, let the kids have their fun! That's what Disney is about, remember??

haha...Disney Facists are EVERYWHERE....WATCH OUT!!!! They tell you how to act in queue lines, monitor your food intake, and tell you how fast to walk!!! BIG MICKEY IS WATHING!!!!! (And to stay "on topic" SSE rehab is great!)

People ought to know exactly what a fascist is before they throw that term around ...don't you think!

So now... I will say this about the title.

I am happy that I will get one more opportunity to ride the attraction before it closes and is redone to the new Siemens SSE of invention... instead of communication through the ages. (do you think they will really get rid of that huge steam powered printing press?)

Also I'm sorry there are many of you out there that will be disappointed later this summer and fall that you won't be able to ride it again. But trust me... there won't be many improvements to the ride before its guts are ripped out. Its a wonderful, classic ride, but its time has come. Just think... in a years time... there will be awesome new AA's (hopefully) working inside the sphere.

They don't need to get rid of anything during the first half of the ride; it all still fits with the new theme. They just may have to change some of the animatronics' dialogue (and, of course, the entire narration will need to be reworked).

closing

I checked the official website yesterday and it does not list Spaceship earth as being closed during the months of August. It does list Haunted Mansion as being closed for the month.

Oh you want an adult answer!!!! Well then why don't you :zipit: and read this...

How about calling guest services yourself if you just got to have the answer quick and easy.

Or you could go and read the 12 other topics about this that do have "an approperate response" we are all Disney fans here to have fun and talk about Disney. If you are planning your vacation on what you read here you can be sure that your vacation will not be what you expect. If you have a question about Disney go to Disney. We have "heard" things or "saw something" about all sorts of stuff, but till Disney says "THIS IS WHAT WE ARE DOING" it is just RUMOR. Yes there are times the news on here can be more correct then what Disney has, but I would also plan according to the company.

seeeoooo.... it is now sounding as if SSE will be getting a whole bunch of changes EXCEPT for a new track and ride system. Is this pretty much a given? Darned track, I feel like I am riding on something imagined in the late 70's and installed in the early 80's!

Realistic, isn't it! ;)

In the movie theater section, there are three screens, each showing a different movie. One is a silent film with a trolley and the other two are Disney films. One is "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (the Silly Song scene) and the other is "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" (the Nautilus racing along just below the surface of the sea). Do you think any of these movies will be replaced as part of the major rehab? If so, I think they should replace the Snow White one with a Pinocchio one (I'm thinking the puppet show scene with Pinocchio singing "I've Got No Strings").

Also, I have two more questions: 1) Will the narrator be replaced? If so, by who? 2) Will they restore Tomorrow's Child as the (un)official theme song?

Movie screens- I would guess yes they will replace that part and I doubt they would do Pinocchio. If they did end up keeping an animated feature in there Snow White is the best, it was the first.

1)odds are very high! Jeremy has moved away from Disney. I am sure if they offered him enough money he would do it. But they wont keep the same naration due to the fact they are changing a bunch of the scenes.

2) Some how I guess they will find a way to sneak this back in. But I would not hold me to that.

I think it's more or less fine, but the track for the cars iteself, yesterday, it sounded REALLY bad. I mean it screeched and sounded so bad.

However, 20K was not Disney's first live-action film. That billing goes to Treasure Island.
