Does anybody know if Siemens has put up their logos and name on Spaceship Earth yet?

Not since I was last there. However on New Years they made mention of the sponsership for Illuminations before it started. So maybe the logos will be up on SSE soon?

I wonder if the recently edited video footage (the likes of the people communicating through screens) that have just recently had the AT&T logos finally removed will be re edited again and have the Siemens Logo placed on them.

went on it two days ago. it's the same. I don't really like the tv screens going up the ramp at the begining. It's a little redundant.

But you need redundant in this day and age to protect yourself from idiots who don't like to use common sense... :brick:

I would guess the SIEMENS logos would be added during a refurb of some sort. Does SSE have a refurb scheduled anytime soon?

Only refurb known about (to me anyways) was a just a RUMOR that SE would go down near the end of the year to redo it for the 25th anniversary of Epcot. This is only a RUMOR though and there is no actual such thing known about at this time. But if something like that did happen, that would be the best time to do it. It would have nice timing actually, roll out a refurbished, shiny SE with a new and updated ending and its fully sponsered, all in time for the 25th. Still just a RUMOR though.

I was at Epcot today and I saw Siemens' name on the directional signs in the park. Their name wasn't on the actual ride though, which was quite odd.

I was there tonight visiting the girlfriend (on the CP) and again heard mention of Siemens before RoE. I again forgot the name of the company though.

**They said something along the lines of Illuminations is brought to you by _________ A Siemens company.

I know that has nothing to do with SSE, but just to show that Siemens is making its way into the park.

That would be Sylvannia.

Siemens on SpaceShip Earth

Although the company name is not mentioned yet, the videos of the people talking on the video phones have been cropped (rather badly) to get rid of the AT&T logo. This makes the videos very uneven on the flat screens. Also, something new I noticed at the beginning of the ride is a security monitor from inside the attraction with a sign below saying something to the effect of Not Following Rider Instructions Can Cause You To Be Asked To Leave The Park. Something I never noticed before.

Just my thoughts...

A new sponsor probably wouldn't want to attach their logo until they had an improved product to introduce. Otherwise they lose the initial "BANG" and recognition for their investment.

Better to avoid the negative comments from those complaining that the ride is still the same as always.

Maybe they are waiting closer to 25 years to fix it

In 2007 it will be 25 years for Epcot, but so far it doesn't look as if it will actually be celebrated in any way. :( I was really hoping they would take the stupid wand down and fix SSE for the 25th. I kind of don't want to go and see SSE in it's current state. I know I will cry. Maybe Siemens is going to rehab it slowly for the first year or so and make a big deal about it in the fall of 2007.
