So I was just looking through my A Souvenir Disney Songbook theme park sheet music book and it says that We've Come So Far was the theme song for Space Mountain.

Here are some lyrics:

We've come so far
yet there's so very far to go

We've watched our dreams become reality
We have tested what the future holds in store for us...

my question is when did this song get removed from the ride or was it only at Disneyland?

Also the book has one image from the 3D film Magic Journeys. does anybody know where there are more pictures from this movie?

The music book is out of print (it so old it has music from Kitchen Kaberet and the original Universe of Energy). I found it unexpectedly from a music store in Kissamee

I mentioned this is another thread not only Space Mountain but on just about every attraction there was theme music and in every case I can think of the volume has been turned way down or the music has been removed.

I like to know myself why Disney did this?

The original song or theme song for Space Mountain was RCA's "Here's to the Future and You" you can download an mp3 of the song from the website "widen your world".

Originally guests could hear the instrumentals to the song outside the building, then the softer instrumental composition once inside the lobby/entrance and curving down the ramp.

Inside the star tunnel music is still there as is the moog music in the zig-zag corridor both original from 1975.

In the post show guests would see the home of future living, no music was heard at this time...under the train tracks the chorus was humming the song...and when guests finally saw themselves on the TV monitors the chorus could be heard singing the lyric to "Here's to the Future and You"

In 1985 all of "Here's to the Future and You" was deleted when RCA updated their sponsorhsip of space mountain. Since 1985 there is no longer music heard outside the building. The entrance lobby still features since 1985 the orchestral and soft musical score of "We've Come so Far"...the new song RCA had done for Space Mountain.

Originally since 1985 when guests would enter the post show they could hear the soft trumpet score of "We've Come so Far" and then hear the chorus singing the lyrics to we've come so far under the railroad tracks and in the television monitor area. In 1994 when FedEx came....the lyrics portion was deleted, only keeping the soft trumpet score. In 2005 all of this was deleted and disneyland's space mountain day track is now used.

what about the period when Esquivel's Music Makers/Sentimental Journey were added to the post show? That was probably when FedEx took over??

Actually now that you mention it, I think Music Makers and Senntimental Journeys were atleast around in 1985...possibly since 1975 since there was no music in the home of future living. They are both two nice songs!
