Space Mountain Death News Report.

It may not be necessary, but if it's a fact, then the public has a right to know. I know what it's like to be in a newsroom and too often, people call bias to a straight recitation of fact.

Whether the reporter or the editors who handled that piece have a Disney bias I don't know, but that snippet doesn't show one.

BJ....come on...the bias is that they chose the headline they did and they even ran the story.

First of all it's old news....second...does anyone really care about this at all. If no one cares....why run it?

Alright, Ray, I'll come on. I addressed the headline and my thoughts on why the story might have run in my other posts. You, of course, are free to draw your own conclusions.

What went so wrong that the paper Walt Befriended back in the 60`s for his Florida Project could turn so nasty against his company? Time and time again?

Actually, wasn't Walt trying to avoid any interaction with the paper during the property buy-up? I believe when questioned by one of the reporters, he tried to keep them at bay and side-stepped giving a straight answer as much as possible.

If there was goodwill between the two... it wasn't apparent on the very first day.

Which is really as it should be. Newspapers have an interest in trying to uncover as much as they can. Businesses have an interest in only allowing what they want to be uncovered. They're not supposed to be friends, not when it comes to their professional interactions, at least.

Sorry to interupt this thread but I have a breaking news story just coming across the wires now.

Details are very sketchy but it appears that tens of millions of people have gone to WDW and none of them reported any injuries whatsoever. At this time it appears that the vast majority of them had a wonderful time and can't wait till their next trip to the World. Many are currently being interviewed by our fair and balanced reporters and these will be available via-streaming video very soon.

More details following super massive mega-charged with turbo-boost doppler10900 radar weather forecast at 11:00 PM.

Well i should get in a car accident after leaving WDW, and blame the tea-cups for making me too sick to drive (what's this common sense stuff i hear about?), then sue WDW for not putting up a sign saying 'don't drive after riding this ride if you feel in any way form or shape sick'.

I could make millions! :hammer:

First of all.....

What was a 73 year old man riding that ride?! O_O;; Seriously, my boyfriend rode that ride for the first time and was shaking after it. And I know this could be a little T.M.I But my unmentionables always fall off on that ride x_x
It's really embarassing that I have to reach inside my shirt and fix that.

I love that ride and I've ridden it over and over in one night but still x_X It's quite the bumpy :p

It amazes me that i hear about disney injuries/death/etc on ride when i just live a few hours away from Cedar Point and King's Island. (which has the some of the most extreme ride in the world.) I never hear anything about injuries or death coming from those two theme parks

.......but a few states away all i hear about is Disney accidents. Amazing

I wonder why a 73 year old would ride Space Mountain?

Why shouldn't an older person ride a more intense ride? I have known some people close to 90 who were in better shape than I was in my 30s!

Its sad either way, but it seems disney is getting alot og negative attention when it comes to illnesses, incidents and deaths.

Negative news & tragedy sells papers and boosts ratings. Its a known fact in all newsrooms. I wish it wasn't that way all the time... but that is the nature of the business. :brick:

Probably because those parks are so intimidating that a 73 y/o people wouldnt ride them

Okay, uh, why in the world would someone who's 73 years old ride on a roller coaster? Seriousely, it's like he's asking to have a heart attack or something.
