in line right now for Space Mtn (10am). Second track isn't going. Is it normal for them to not run both tracks first thing in the morning? Or is this possibly what caused it to go down on Saturday?

I'm sure when the queue is full up to a certain point they then start using the second track as it will then get the lines moving again...

My guess: dynamic manning. They know it doesn't get very busy until 11:00 am, so they only schedule enough CMs to man one side until 10:30.

That happened when I was there two weeks ago. The stand-by was getting pretty long and for a while we didn't move. As soon as they opened us the left track, we were on within minutes. This was also around 10:30am, just before 11am...so maybe that is normal.

I've noticed this too when they limit the number of trains or vehicles on various rides. It's a pretty standard approach from amusement and theme parks, though it does nullify the gains of being there on a slower day. Lines can sometimes move slower despite lighter (relatively speaking) crowds.

On the MDE app, it's said that Space Mountain has been temporarily closed for several days. I have a FP+ for it for October 9th. Confused. Halp.

I'm convinced someone in operations has decided that for it to be a true Disney experience walk-on ride moments must be kept to a minimum.... we noticed the same thing at rope drop in June when we decided to hit space mountain first. Only one line and because one daughter wanted to ride it over and over we kep hitting it and all I can say for certain is that in the first hour and half it was only a single track open even as the line was starting to get a bit long.
