Then "Real" question is....When are they going to update this image of the "oh so perfectly position cloud" to show the rest of Communicore On space elevator?

They don't have too much left to finish now..
Maybe it’s too ugly and they know it?

Cute thread... so I'm pretty sure that an elevator shaft that goes from earth into a restaurant in outer space is an object that even go away blue paint would not disguise. Besides an upper level building would also be visible. Me thinks we are being pranked here.
Did you ever do The Living Seas?
Martin, you are reaching back a number of years. Didn't that convincing trick disappear around 30 years ago. I'd guess that a large number of current posters weren't even born yet when that was Disney magically sunk completely. I heard that they needed those elevators for the Tower of Terror.

On a more serious note though that feature in Living Seas was convincingly well done. I'm no genius, but I quickly saw what what happening, but my girls (age 8 & 10 at the time) bought it completely, that was who it was for, but it impressed the hell out of me too. Ah, to be young and innocent again.

They turned the movie off prior…but the sea cabs disappeared when they started the Nemo overlay?

@marni1971
Turtle Talk had already gone in to its first home in module 1C on November 11 2004. Sea Cabs had closed October 21 2001. One theatre still showed the preshow until the pavilion closed for the nemo makeover.

Wait, I'm confused...Turtle Talk went where the movie was? I thought the movie was shown in what became the Nemo ride queue. When exactly did the movie stop, if you know?
The preshow originally dumped you onto the cab ride…but it was set up in a way where they could alter the paths to skip/bypass them. I’m sure for code/safety/access purposes

I just amended my reply… any better ?

Turtle talk first went into one of the modules off the main concourse. When the nemo overlay happened it was moved into one of the old preshow theatres.

The last 5 minutes or so of this should help:

Ok, that makes sense. Thanks. I must have seen the preshow in the one theatre. I also remember seeing Turtle Talk in the original location (and then never again since!).

My memories of that time are sadly getting foggy. I was so young back then and full of dreams about what the future of Disney would look like...

So, as a score card:

No Actual Change in Elevation (100% simulated):
-Haunted Mansion Elevator (MK)
-Runaway Railway waterfall scene
-Hydrolators
-Space 220 Pre-Show

Actual Change in Elevation, but Actual Change is Significantly Less than What is Simulated:
-Flight of Passage
-Rise of the Resistance
-Star Tours

Actual Change in Elevation (Without Simulation):
-Tower of Terror
-The feeling when your Mickey bar melts off the stick and the half eaten remains land on the hot Florida pavement

PotC does have to go under the railroad Tracks to get to the rest of the show building and you have to use the ramp to exit...

LOL, this is going to places I didn't intend! All I wanted to know was whether the restaurant was on the lower floor or upper floor, if the building was tall enough for two storeys.

Not to worry my friend. This just took a somewhat silly, joking turn. I hope it didn't go to far. I for one knew that you didn't think there was an elevator that took you into space. ;)

Yes thank you! And then your sequel video actually answered even more questions I had!
