From just outside Richmond, VA - near the airport - where gas prices jumped literally overnight from 2.96 to 3.39 - there are now reports of stations WITHOUT GAS.....
BJ's which is usually the cheapest around here - was 3.15 at 10 PM LAST NIGHT... don't know what it is today, or if they have any.

Prices at a few places around here actually DROPPED today....the station I paid $2.99 at yesterday was only $2.85 today. I also haven't seen a single station closed.

Let's try to stay as non-political as possible...

I don't believe any President over the past 40 years has pushed for renewable energy sources so the blame needs to be spread out to the government as a whole.

We already blame the government as a whole. We have since 1776... or, in my case, 1867.

I realize that this thread is about Southeast gas prices BUT gas up here in Indiana is also horrible! The current price for regular is $3.45 and the middle stuff is $3.55. Outrageous!!!

The Crown station on Rte. 10 in Chesterfield was $3.49 this morning!

But the radio (WRVA) says now that the gas pipelines that were down yesterday are back almost to full capacity today, so prices should be stabilizing or dropping. Also, the attorney general for Virginia said today that they will prosecute for price-gouging...

Here's hoping everything gets better soon.

I have found a really neet web site that can give you gas prices for your area, if the site is available in your area.

For Houston, the website is www.houstongasprices.com. I have checked for New York (www.newyorkgasprices.com) and Orlando (www.orlandogasprices.com ), and it is available in those areas as well.....

Basically, people report gas prices from all over the city.....wish I had thought of that.....

EDIT...I see someone had already posted about the orlando site....

again, Floridians... look to the turnpike and member only stores for cheap gas.

I'm getting very tempted to buy a Sams card at this point

Just filled up/topped off for $3.05/gallon. I took a hair over 7 gallons (12 gallon tank) and most other people were getting 3-5 gallons. Anything under 2.99 was out of gas.

Ive been topping off my tank every other day or so.....paying cash as I go so it doesnt seem like such a large chunk.....if I can keep most of the gas off the gas card and cut back along the way, should be able to take it in stride...

Im going to property in hopes of finding cheaper gas and to top off teh tank.
And you're complaining? I keep hearing of people griping about their sub $3 gas prices..... That's cheap now! I wish I could find gas for the $2.89-2.99 range in Georgia!

It never really sunk in until now that most gas companies buy from the same refiners and add their own "special blend" of additives. Very, very, interesting....
