Fills some more gaps in the lineup.

The samples from the 50mm 1.8 look promising.

Rumor is, 4 more lenses coming out this year. I would like to see a 135mm 2.8.

well looky there, goes to show i had no idea

Just did a quick research on the Canon lens. Was $1,600 when first came out. For me, I'd rather have a 70-200 f/4 for a few bucks more or I'd take a "lesser" version of the 70-300 similar to Nikon's for $500.

I assumed this G would be better than the meh 70-300 that nikon has but that was the first one I compared it to and thought $1200 is way too much. But since it is in line with canon it makes sense for that pricing.

But I agree with your thoughts 100%.

Being used to a 70-200 on a crop, I think the 70-300 range would work really well for me on a full frame. Looking forward to see the reviews and see if it's worth the price.
