I can't believe it! I wentto check airfare for Delta Song between Newark and Orlando, and it stated that service between Newark and Orlando will be discontinued as of Sept 06, 2005.

And checking the Delta.com web site, it doesn't look like they are replacing the void with any non-stop service. You have to go through Atlanta or Cincinnati to get to Orlando. :brick: Oh well, back to Continental. Song was great while it lasted. It truly was different. :(

I wonder if Continental has something to do with their departure, i'm sure there MCO sales declined. I hear they have something to with keeping JETBLUE out of EWR. Well it's either Cont, or back to JFK for Jet Blue.

Song is starting up a west coast service out of JFK, so instead of buying new equiptment, they decided to pull the low airfare to MCO and make more money going from East to West West to East

cj2me: Pan-Am flies direct from SWF (Stewart-Newburgh) to Sanford. Not sure how close you are to Newburgh, New York, though. Independence Air flies from EWR to IAD (Dulles) and then on to MCO. I know that direct is better, but Independence is a really nice airline.

I used to live in Jersey and if you live far enough south, then you can fly from Philly on Southwest. Not sure if it's direct, but I know Southwest recently added Philly to their destinations and it's cheaper. Also, try Long Island/Macarthur? That sucks though. I fly from Nashville now being in KY and always wait for Southwest $39 one-way to Orlando. DH and I just went and we only paid $95 pp direct flight to MCO. It may be worth a longer drive to the airport if you can go direct and save.
