Something to be excited about

In a video awhile back I remember hearing from an imagineer who was giving a behind the scenes tour of FLE. In it he said that the Little Mermaid and Seven Dwarfs queues would rival any queue out there, including Indiana Jones at Disneyland. After seeing the picture and videos of the Little Mermaid queue, I must admit I'm really excited that the Seven Dwarfs queue promises to be just as good. Excited about the ride as well, obviously.

I think 7DMT will be FLE's best attraction. Mermaid has a very detailed/realistic queue, but some parts of it were sort of changed at what seemed like the last minute, i.e. the generic mermaid figurehead becoming Ariel and the windows moved on the castle . . . and as great as Mermaid's queue is, I don't get why they didn't use the same level of realism/details for the inside of the ride (outside of the animatronics). I think they wanted the inside to look cartoonish/animated like the film in some respects.

I think 7DMT could rival Indy's queue, have to wait and see.

BoG looks absolutely gorgeous, and must take the cake for the best exterior for a restaurant in any Disney park.

I'm actually really excited about the Seven Dwarfs ride! It looks neat and I know the final product will be great!

I've got a real love of all things "mine" related, so i'm anticipating the Mine Coaster. I have my expectations at a reasonable level though. I expect the queue will be great as usual with Disney. The ride should be a nice little addition to the Magic Kingdom at the very least, just not expecting Big Thunder caliber of an attraction. But regardless, i'm going to enjoy watching the ride take shape over the next year and see how it turns out.

In looking at the layout for the ride course, you can tell there are a lot of turns. That's usually the norm for a compact coaster, but in this case it's a gift as well. The almost constant turns will get those cars swaying real fast.

Not saying its the greatest thing ever. But it will defiantly have a good deal of movement on that front.

It was a disappointment to find out it would be a kiddie coaster, but I'm eager to see and ride it, all the same. :)

From the way the design and development of the mine cars look, with all the sway, it may be a "kiddie coaster," but I think it may provide some thrills as well. Perhaps maybe it'll blow people's expectations out of the water and I can stop hearing the griping about no new E-Tickets.

Yeah...right.
Indy at Disneyland is arguably the best queue ever made, along with Forbidden Journey.
I don't see any FLE queue reaching that level. Mermaid's is very nice, and I'm sure 7DMR will be, but not in Indy's class.
Agreed - there is nothing close to those at the moment.

As a big harry potter fan I found the harry potter Que have assed. It didnt feel complete. A good example is the gryffindor common room. It looked nothing like the movie. I've never seen indys Que but as of now i think LM has tgr best que in Orlando

Same here. One of the very first (along with Mine Train Through Natures Wonderland at Disneyland)) rides I ever remember goin' on when I was a kid was a "Lost/Runaway Mine Train" ride at a small amusement park called Frontier Village that used to be in San Jose, Ca.
Another was a similar ride at Six Flags Over Texas up in Arlington, Texas. Don't even know if that ride is still there, 'cause we haven't been up there in years, what with Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Sea World bein' in San Antonio, and Sclitterbahn in New Braunfels just down the road.

So, very excited to see the Imagineers final treatment!

The first thing I thought when I saw video of Mermaid's queue is that it's comparable to Indy. This is a horrible excuse, but the current set up of the Indy queue has guests burning through quite a bit of the detail - should that be factored in if Mermaid continues to fill it's queue?

I find mermaid to be comparable. I mean indy and harry potter have a more distinct place to put people through and more recognizeable. For what mermaid is...its spectacular. I didn't care for the outside portion of harry potter! But most of the inside is good. There are just some on ride stuff I don't like but I won't get into a FJ argument.

I absolutely doubt that the entire ship structure with a Ariel figurehead was last minute. Compared to the concept art it is something that would take much more time to build and add the level of detail to it.Also, it flows a lot more with its surrounding then a bronze statue would of.

And the windows were obviously a last minute decision but that was clearly because they realized it would look a lot better if they were to the front, then to the side, like in the movie. But I don't see how that is a bad thing? Imaginears realized their was a better solution than previously brought up, so they went with it for the benefit of the guests.

May I respectfully inquire as to how moving the windows before the ride is open
affects anything, at all, ever?

Your statement, condensed, sorta reads "Mermaid has a very detailed/realistic queue, but . . . the windows moved on the castle".

To me that's like saying, "I like pizza, but the pepperonis were rotated". Or something.

Yeah, I feel that way as well. Someone can feel free to correct me, but isn't the FP/Standbye merge for IJ at the beginning of the awesome queue? I think most of the waiting in standbye is done early on in Adventureland and then you spend a lot of time just blasting through the queue until you hit the safety film.

I could be wrong -- I've only ever used FP to ride and I've never seemed to hit it when it was terribly busy -- but I've never been stuck waiting in the queue really, so even though it's awesome looking I never have spent time enjoying it. If FP slows down the LM wait as expected, it will probably mean that that queue at least gets enjoyed more.

"Kiddie coaster" is constantly used here as a pejorative term to describe the 7DMT and I'm not sure that's fair. The swaying is going to be a novel feeling and it's going to be longer, more "thrilling" than the likes of Goofy's. I guess what I'm saying is that 7DMT is something in between an actual "kiddie coaster" and a more thrilling one like BTM. Maybe we need a different term like "Tween Coaster".

Besides, for most of it's existence, the Matterhorn would be considered a "kiddie coaster" (heck, my one son rode it when it was 2 and a half and he's relatively short) and people of all ages seem to enjoy it.

I think we could coin the term "Buffalo Coaster" because it is 'mild'. ;)
