Something Special for a Friend

A friend is going to Disney at the end of April, beginning of May. We would like to arrange something for her and her 12 year old son while they are there. We go 3 weeks before they do. Any suggestions?? One that I did come up with was a portrait sitting.

Thanks!!

One time for my husband's birthday, his family pre-paid for our dinner at O'hana - it was so magical to get there and be treated so well, and at the end have them say the bill had been covered.

Depending on your budget, Gifts of a Lifetime are wonderful. I used them for a surprise for my son in February '06. It was fantastic [we did a Family Amazing Race through Epcot].

It wasn't cheap, but in my view it was worth every penny!

You could arrange for a special tour. There is a family tour at the MK. (and many others as well.) There are minimum age requirements for some. You need to investigate more. These are pricey- but there are discounts for AP and DVC members.

There are fireworks cruises you could arrange. You can reserve one for a date they'll be there and prepay. (Not sure- last time I checked- it was around $125) This would be for either EPCOT or MK. It's really cool at EPCOT- they pull you up under the bridge between France and England to watch the fireworks show. WOW! The best part is you miss all the exit craziness.

There are also water related sports you could do at Sammy Duvall's by the Comtemporary. (tubing, parasailing, etc.) You could even arrange for a half hour water mice escapade!

If you're looking to spend less- try this.............
My parents went for a trip shortly after we had visited WDW. We purchased their refillable mugs at their resort for them. It was a simple gift that they appreciated and used every day!

We've have been on the receiving end of the baskets delivered to the room. They're great- but expensive for what's in them.

Thanks everybody, my wife and I are more than likely going with getting the refillable mugs. Now for another question, how do we go about getting the mugs to them and paid for?? Thanks again.

I've heard of that, and thought it sounded really neat. When I went to their website,I was hoping for a little more detail about what exactly they would do. What did the surprise for your son entail? Or if anyone else has used this, what did they do?

Call the resort that they will be staying at and see if they will leave a little something for them when they arrive. Wait until a day or so before they arrive though. You'd be surprized what they can do!

You are never alone in your searches, the pixie's are always close by to make sure that you get the items that you are intended to get. You may not see them but rest assured, they are there.
