I am at wwd now at the train station in frontierland. The train pulled up and the conductor started waving at the guests as normal but then started pointing at the exit frantically. The cast member on the platform started running to the exit and I thought someone had stepped out or something, but instead it was to chase this guy away with a video camera.

any ideas what he might be taping and why disney cares so much to stop him? I saw security at every other stations exit...

That is an interesting one...I have taken many pictures of the train, but no video. Never had nor seen any problems with it...makes me wonder if there was something else going on like one of the other posters said...

I dunno maybe... It just felt odd... I mean the cast member chased him about half way down the exit and then he sort of lurked back...

just wondering if there is some sort of train protesters or something! He had a pretty big high end video camera.

I should have asked security when I got off but didn't... Maybe I will try to ride it again before nightastic!

I'd hazard a guess that, in our terrorist filled world, someone taking video of a mass-transit system, any kind of mass-transit system, probably raises alarms with security folks. Even if their intentions were benign. At least we know that Disney is keeping an eye on this kind of activity.

Good thought, but somewhat doubtful. Think how many hundreds of people take videos of the monorail each day. It's likely that he was in an area where he shouldn't have been while the train was pulling in. Or, it's very possible that other factors were in play.

Weird. There is no taping ban of any guest transport.

You mention a pretty big, high end camera. Was it the type held on the shoulder?

If so I`d take a wild guest it was a professional cameraman not working to his permit or something similar.

And why would a guest run away after being seen filming something? I agree with Martin...sounds like a pro doing something he wasn't assigned to do.

I was just there on Tuesday at the Toontown station video recording the train coming into the station for several minutes and even after it left... was on a tripod, etc... no one was unhappy with me..the train pilot waved and even tooted the horn a couple extra times smiling as he passed by...

I'd say this guy was doing something else...
