Walls went up overnight last night on the upper level of the Canada pavilion. The entire level is blocked off and you can only enter the theatre from the bridge area in the back.

Does anyone that has access to work permits have any information on this? I'd love to see those stores come back as that whole upper area has been a desert for years.

Sorry no pictures, but all Disney construction walls pretty much look the same.

Well, Lord knows nothing was announced today about this...

But I'm with you; a CS restaurant, bar, store, anything for that area would be a welcome addition....

A Canada counter service would be great. That way we wouldn't have to wait until food and wine to get the cheddar cheese soup anymore.

I wonder if this is related to a new VP coming in. If I had just assumed management of a theme park, I'd be pretty horrified to find out an entire section of a pavilion was closed off due to a mold infestation.

Highly doubt it would be anything food related but just reopening the stores would be a good idea. It would actually give people something to look at once they get up there instead of just finding out they have to walk down the steps in the back.

Here's hoping for some changes for our northern neighbor's pavilion. :sohappy: I agree that opening just a few more stores or restoring the beaver tails place would help revitalize the pavilion a bit... although I personally find it very enjoyable already. :) Canada is the only pavilion with a more natural focus, perhaps like the Frontierland of Epcot.

Im excited for this! It always annoyed me that it was just sitting empty up there while I was working there. Im going back for a second contract in 2 months, maybe Ill have a new location to work in! I hope they keep the old BGM thats still playing in there.

So I just found out the rest of the information. Are you ready for it? Here it is: the entire upper area of the Canada pavilion will be blocked off until mid December...for painting. Yep, that's it. :(

We are waiting for the picture, please upload the same as soon as you get the picture, please upload them

They are walls. No big deal. We've all seen them before.

Odd...4 months to paint? I have a few buddies I could bring out and we could knock it out in a week! Oh well, I guess Disney needs to save all their money for the wristband investment that will (note sarcasm) REALLY enhance my experience.

I would like the idea of a Canada counter service, but they are not going to put it way up out of the way. The only reason that the bakery works in Paris is because there is the shop and Impressions that draws you to the back of that pavilion. The only thing pulling you back to the upper level in Canada is a view of the simulated Canadian Rockies (which I enjoy, but not everyone will go back there for it.). Most all other counter service is "street level" or in the direct path to high traffic areas.

Disappointing it's just paint, anything in that location would have been welcome. I am totally on the bandwagon for quick serv in Canada though. Poutine with hand cut fries, beaver tails, maybe even some smoke meat and steamies... Nothing but healthy eating

If they have stuff in there that is worth-while I'm sure people will head up there. You know how people rave about the kiosk for Food and Wine. How about making that a permanent addition up there.

I totally agree. I would love some cheese soup and pretzel bread without having to ADR.
