Some December Advice

Hi There,

We had a trip planned and nearly completly paid for, for Sept 24-30. Free Dinning. It was over out Anniv no kids! However I found out I have to
have Back surgery next month and was told I cant get on a coaster for 12weeks. My husband and I weighed the options. We figure since we don't get many chances to be on our own. It would be best to reschedule. We are thinking of going Dec 3-9. I also have a pin code for free dinning, it actually is lower cost then going in Sept. My question is how cold does it get. I am trying to decide to add Water park and more option to our reservation. We love Disney waterparks but if its too cold I would rather save the money. Is there anything else about December we should know about. We are kind of excited to see Disney decked out for Christmas.
Any information would be great!

Thanks again:)

Last year while we were there during that week it was freezing! Maybe made it to the 60's during the day if we were lucky and at night got down to the 30's. Later on our trip it did warm up, but during the time you'd be visiting, it was so cold! We drove down from Maine, so had all our winter clothes with us for the drive and was so glad we did! Wore those most of the time! I wouldn't add the Water Park and more option. If it's nice weather, you could always just buy a day ticket and go.

I can get chilly in December, so I agree about not adding the water park option. The temps also start dropping as soon as the sun goes down. Much better plan to just get a one day ticket if it's a nice day.

We were there Dec 25th - Jan 3rd and it was glorious

Low to mid 80's during the day - shorts and T shirts weather. The evenings were cooler and a sweatshirt was advisable

Just remember December is winter time no matter where you are. I have been there two of the last three years the first weekend in December. It was warm during the day and chilly at night. Just have a sweatshirt ready for the nights. As for water parks - I would not recommend - not warm enough in my opinion for those in December. The parks are beautiful that time of year. Looking forward to my trip down there this holiday!!:xmas:

December weather is fickled to say the least. One day the high might be in the 60's with a low in the 30's. The next, the high will be in the 80's, Low's in the 60's. Your best bet is to pack a bit of everything just in case.

This is great information everyone! Thank you :). I decided not to go with the Fun and more option, I would only use it with the water parks anyway. So if its warm enough when we are down there I can always buy the tickets there. If not then I played it smart!

It can get pretty cold in Florida. We were there in 2003 in December. We were at Sea World on a Friday with shorts and tanks on and Saturday we were at Epcot looking for Winter hats. We were not prepared for the cold. We only had Sweatshirts and each of us had 1 pair of jeans. My kids were sad :cry:they did not get to go in the pool at the Caribbean Beach resort. We will down at the end of November thru first week of December:xmas: i'm hoping for Warm weather.
