Problems:

1. The globe sits over the inferno barge. Releasing a giant fireball into it might cause a few more problems than opening it.

The inferno barge and earth barges, though hard to see, actually end up side by side during the show. The entire earth barge will not be in ROE for a few weeks at the beginning of next year, and though the original poster completely RUINED the surprise at the end of the show , the burnoff does in fact happen. Promise.

2. The travelling part is NOT what the globe has issues with.

Very true. This is to upgrade the video system and make extensive maintenance repairs to the lighting and mechanics, etc. There is a thread in the News/Rumors forum all about the earth barge refurbishment.

I cant see Disney allowing that many guests to be in the top of that attraction. If an evac were needed, you would be in big trouble.

The globe doesn't sit over the inferno barge it sits behind or next to it. He was refering to the changes while the globe is out of commission.

I do think this is also a bad rumor since they have already ran the show without the globe when they had the accident on it. I don't see why they would make changes to the show this time when they didn't see the need for it the last time.

4. If we can't have the ImageWorks open upstairs because of costs regarding upperstory insurance/evacuation, how on earth would you do it up there?

That's just rubbish as it has been open for Kim Possable, it's a matter of not bothering to spend money opening it up.

Back to the post, I can't see any of the changes on SSE I think someone is pulling your leg. Welcome to the boards if you have a read around you will see a thread about the post show being refitted.

I am all for improvements but Illuminations Reflections of Earth is perfect exactly as it is and needs no changes, other than for temporary reasons.
And I agree with Hakuna that it doesn't seem likely that Disney would allow so many people near the top of an attraction like SSE because for security and safety reasons it could be a very bad situation.
