So I am going to be in the Orlando area for business Fe 8-12. I was planning on spending a whole day in MK on Tuesday because I was supposed to not have to work. Well I now have to work in the morning till about 11-12 at the latest. My question is, do you think it will be a waste of money to only go from 12-8? I've been many times so I guess its more a matter of whether or not I really want to go but I was just curious what others thought. I think by that point I am going to need to go to my happy place just to get away from work!

I also wanted to know if I will have a hard time getting into the resorts since I am not staying on property. I get down there on a Sunday and plan to go to DTD and WL for the evening. I dont think I'll have to pay parking since I'm not going to MK that day but will they let me go on to WL? Thanks for any and all help in advance!

I don't know if I would pay $70 for a one day pass to only use it for half of that day, but I probably would.

You might want to consider paying for a 10 day pass with no expiration.

As far as the DTD - WL thing, I would park at DTD and catch the bus at DTD to WL. That way, you wouldn't have to worry about being turned back at the gate.

You answered your own question. You called it "your happy place". A happy place is priceless and so you would not be wasting money. As far as visiting the WL, I do not think you will have any problems getting in without paying for parking.

Whether or not you should get a 10-day pass with no expiration really depends on how often you go. The value of the admission aside, I would do it. I myself have been able to do everything I want to do within a few hours...FastPasses really work their magic that way! You shouldn't need more than 8 hours to get a good day out of the Magic Kingdom (whether or not it's worth $70 I'll leave for another thread)!

Me, personally, yes I would definitely spend 70 bucks on a one day ticket for 8 hours. Worth every penny to me....especially if I was on business travel. I would be furious if I went to orlando to work and some how didnt make it over to disney

Thanks for your responses. You all make very valid points which I pretty much knew anyway . As far as the $70 - I dont really want to spend it but probably will because well i'm rather obsessed with Disney. And I mean since I'm only 15 mins away it would be a sin not to go over!

When you visit WL you should not have a problem getting in. The 1st time we went to WL we wanted to check out the property and the guard said it was fine and let us through, on the 2nd occasion we mentioned that we had a reservation at Artisit Point (We didn't) we just wanted to get a quick bite to eat at Roaring Forks and watch the Geyser once again we were allowed through. Lying aside I'm sure the guards have heard it all and they are aware that people want to check out the Resorts so I wouldn't worry. Oh and as for the heading to the park I say go for it. If you must, call it a treat for working so hard but since it's Disney I'm sure you don't really need an excuse. Have Fun!

I'd probably pick Epcot because it's my favorite park and it's open until 9 instead of 8, but either way, the money would be worth it for me.

If, however, money is tight, I can tell you that it is possible to have a lot of fun around WDW without ever paying for or entering a park. On one trip years ago, I had a day to kill and needed to relax. I didn't feel like paying for park admission, so I just parked at DtD, walked around there, took a boat up to Port Orleans, a bus to MGM, walk to Epcot Resort Area, bus to MK, walk to Contemporary, monorail to Epcot, bus to WL, walk to FW, catch the campfire and see the MK fireworks from the beach, and then, eventually a bus back to DtD. I walked around all the resorts, talked with CMs and guests, grabbed food wherever I was when I got hungry, played on playgrounds, took pictures, caught a couple of vocal performances in resorts, and really did come out relaxed. Tired from all that walking, but relaxed.

I agree it is almost the eighth deadly sin as far as Disney Freaks go. If you are or were at any time a member of the military you are eligible for a free 5 day MYW ticket.
